The Clarke news is pretty old already, happened right after Rodgers appointment.

Clarke offered his resignation directly following Dalglish's exit from the club. The club refused it until Rodgers had a chance to talk with him and decide whether he wanted to keep him on the staff. Rodgers seems to prefer workig with the staff he had at Swansea, so Clarke has been let go to allow Rodgers to bring in the coach he wishes to work with. It's not some sinister move by the owners or the beginning of some mass departure.

That Gylfi guy looks nailed on. Is he good enough to play for Liverpool or is he another "squad" type player?

Gerrard, Henderson and Lucas look like the main trio to be honest, with Gerrard rotated with Gylfi. I know you don't rate Hendo as he played with S'land, but he does his job.

There's also Aquilani. Hoping he's not sold though.

Only idiots said that.... anyone with a braincell could tell that Adam was a average player at a relegation team.

Sigurdsson is different..... he's creative, scores goals and basically anything else you would want from a CM/AM hybrid.

He's miles better than Henderson and Gerrard cant consistently play well these days... you might not want to hear this but he should be restricted to an impact role as that's where he's been most effective in last 18 months.

Buying Sigurdsson gives you the opportunity to rest Gerrard and not rely on him as much.

Meh. Like I said, he'll be rotated with Gerrard as Stevie's ageing and has had his injury woes.

Don't see how you don't rate Henderson though. "Miles" better? From what I've seen, Gylfi has good ball control and can use both feet. That's only judged from like 2-3 games though. Henderson is great in possession, is a workhorse, and always presses for the ball back. He'll shine under Rodgers. Only reason he's had a "bad" season is because he was being played as a winger as we had no-one else.

Saying that. Gylfi, Henderson and Lucas looks good.

Still want Gago though. :\

He's alright i just think he's good enough for a team that's long term ambition is to finish in a CL spot.... ( squad option yes) but someone to be important first team player not for me.

And before Red comes in and says its because he played for Sunderland it isnt that.... i rate Sessegnon and Larsson.

Gylfi and Gerrard rotating for advanced midfield spot in the midfield 3 is great but you still dont have anyone between Lucas and Gylfi/Gerrard who will link the play.

Still plenty of time of course.

Last thing I read on Aquilani was that he wanted to talk to Rodgers to see how if he fit into his plans.

It's an educated opinion based on the how both of the previous managers dealt with him and his own comments while on loan about wishing to stay in Italy.



Diame would be a solid back-up to Lucas, especially on a free. Sigurdsson and Diame for 7 to 8m would be great business and would give our midfield some added depth.
