Mutu joins Cesena

Striker Adrian Mutu has revealed he was content to take a pay cut to ensure his protracted move to Cesena was finally completed.

Mutu, 32, signed a two-year contract, with the option of a third, to end his five-year spell at Fiorentina. The Romania international had been close to joining Cesena in January but the Viola, who were competing for a place in Europe at the time, blocked the move.

''I am excited and cannot wait to throw myself headlong into this new adventure,'' Mutu told Cesena's official website. ''I thank the president (Igor) Campedelli thank for bringing me into the middle of this ambitious project at Cesena.''

Cesena ended an almost two-decade spell outside Serie A when they were promoted to the top tier 12 months ago, and after avoiding the drop last term Mutu is aiming to help them push on.

''It is a club that has shown in recent years that they have clear ideas on how to achieve success and, above all, has the courage to carry them out,'' he added. ''For this reason I accepted the proposal which reduces my wages.''

Mutu fell out with Fiorentina bosses after his move to Cesena fell through in January, but thanked his former employers after a stay that saw him score 54 goals in 112 league appearances.

''I want to give my best wishes to Fiorentina also, and especially the Della Valle family, for the wonderful years we spent together,'' he added. ''The club will always be in my heart after the wonderful experiences there.''

This comes a day after Cesena said they would not sign him. Italy....

He can go there.Serie A should be more competitive !

Cesena also signed Antonio Candreva. They could be a solid midtable team with another couple good signings.

I am not saying you are wrong. I am just saying that from being right, you can go to being just as wrong as the original poster if you attack him as you did without even knowing if perhaps he meant gypsy in a non-racial manner, or perhaps he did not even know that it is a derogatory term.

Kind of a streotype. In Italy there's lots of Romanians who immigrate and then are portrayed as gypsies (not all of them, don't take this the wrong way). Same thing in France and other European countries.

The research was done by a psychologist and a political scientist,once in 2002 for their first book and once in 2006 for the second one.

That study is dangerous and the science behind it i can guarantee is flawed. The simple observation that there is a correlation between GDP + "IQ" nullifies it.

Many studies have been undertaken that generally speaking there is a negligable difference in intelligence, physical build etc between ethnic groups.

I read on wiki the study was controversial,I think it gives you a global idea though...
