Messi will win Balon D'Ore if CR fails in Euros

But don't forget that Barcelona have kind of lost their flair and sympathy with the people this year. They are no longer the mythical, invincible Barca, plus Messi's consecutive wins have been kind of getting boring to people.

This season, he hasn't managed to improve himself in comparison to previous seasons (albeit he scored more, I know), so I doubt he will get it again tbh. Especially since he won't have a chance for heroics in the Euros.

And Messi did prove himself, he proved himself by smashing records after records after records. Now you will most likely say that he didn't score in the most important games, but then again he did assist around 6 goals and scored 3 against real madrid this season while against chelsea he was our best player in the first leg and assisted Iniestas goal in the 2nd leg..

So its not like he was awful in all our most important games, that goes to some other players that decided to not finish the chances that he created for them..

But it shoudnt be like that. Trophies are won by the best teams, it doesnt necessarily mean that they have the best player, and those who get stat are usually that are the furthest up on the pitch, doesn't necessarily mean that they are better any better than those who players deeper.

I am not saying that Messi doesn't deserve it, or that a Madrid player does, I am just saying that this is one of the least objective elections out there, and I just think that many players and journalists have been disillusionised about Barca this season + that people find it boring to vote for him again (Especially as he hasn't done anything that epic) + people have short term memories, a player who did well this season and who does astonishingly well in the Euros, will most likely win the Ballon D'or.

I posted this before, so I won't do it again, but in most years a player from the winning WC or Euro team wins the Ballon d'Or.

even if CR has an amazing euro's I don't think it's fair to give it him Messi's not even at that competition.....

Titles are won by teams, not by individuals. This isn't team prize. Ballon d'Ors have been won without titles, and will be won without titles. Although it does matter, there is a lot of more criteria than titles.

Exactly, like helping your team in decisive games. Games that win... titles. Besides Messi the individual was being supported by Barca the team. Everything Barca did this season was done to maximise Messi's output to the extent that it cost Barca as a team imo.

Messi was not decisive this season. He may as well have been playing in Holland.

Even Aguero had a better season than Messi imo

The Balon D'Or will go to the star of the Euro's. No way Messi will win it.
