Unfortunately for England they need a Rooneyless formation for the group stages, which is why I'm surprised at Sturridge's absence regardless of form.

True but my post was named of what i would do with the players available....

Also Zeal i forget about Scholes so yeah he would come in for Lampard.....

What i would do base on the players Woy has picked.....

Johnson Lescott Terry Baines
Parker Lampard
Walcott Gerrard Young*
Rooney

As for the Rooney-less formation that Dost mentioned i would go with......

Mata tore him a new one in the FA Cup semis. There are a lot of players lik Mata in the Euros. I shudder thinking about what the result would be.

They are a better CB partnership imo. Lescott is better though I agree.

Same reason I would start Milner and Barry in midfield actually.

I know that Cole hasn't had a great season, however don't you think his experience might come in handy? To his credit he's stepped up in the Champions League ties this season and Baines hasn't been subjected to such pressure to my knowledge, though if you're looking with an eye to the future perhaps then that's fair enough.

Baines has been fantastic the last 2 seasons i think he deserves a crack....

We aint going to go far in this tournament anyway so i dont think it matters.

Roy would pick Cole though but i personally id look to the future as much as possible and Baines is part of that.

Cole has been fantastic lately imo. His experience will be needed imo.

Also backline chemistry is important imo so a Chelsea defence wouldn't be a bad idea.

Johnson (ex-chelsea lol) - Terry - Cahill - Cole

Midfield should be a mix of City/Arsenal and Parker.

Attack should be United centric, Rooney/Young + Carroll

Also the less Liverpool players the better, only Gerrard and Johnson would be justifiable since they have got experience.

Not THAT bad. Would've been better if Richards, Carrick, Wilshere and Rooney would be there but still.
