Yeah... very surprising for Menez and Clichy. Diarra staying was always a good possibility.

Ben Arfa is better than Menez imo. But Ben Arfa is not really a width player... more of a cut in guy. Blanc is looking for width here.

Cabaye beasts with a pure DM as has been shown with Tiote and Diarra. That's the reason there. Hope Diarra continues to shock me lol.
@HM2.... Blanc is trying to pull defenders wide so Benz and Nasri have space against the CBs. We tend to have everyone cutting in and no width. Makes it easy for defenders.

I see, if they still have energy after their 95 min non-stop pressing they did against us you'll be in trouble
i dont know how good your CBs are in the air, but thats where Ukraine create their chances, they don't play it on the ground but rather cross it all the time

That's also why we have Diarra in there. M'Vila is a non presence in the air. Diarra is usually a beast on top.
I also think that Blanc wanted fresh players out there.
My only concern is that this is the first time we've ever played this lineup lol. Not the best of times to play a fresh starting XI.

i think he did the right thing of putting better players on the wings to neutralise their threat, without wings they are nothing..... blanc must've watched our game like 3 times lol
