Fellow Italians - Who would you rather face?

England or France?

It's a tough decision. I'm scared of England because of their pace and counter. But their mid and build up play is weak.

Where as France is more technical and can hold the ball much better.

Probably leaning towards England, but whats your opinion?

ASSUMING UKRAINE don't win. In the case that they do I would rather face them. Well see.

Ukraine will be more dangerous than England or France. South Korea eliminated Spain and Italy. The referees are influenced by strong home support.

I'd love to eliminate England from the tournament just for the bitching from the british media.

So England it is. To be honest, I didn't really have a preference. In the end, you want to win the competition and have to beat the strongest teams to do that. Whether we got France now and England later, or vice versa, it doesn't really make a difference.

That being said, I think England may be the more difficult of the two opponents for the team we have atm. I think we would have had an easier time getting through France's backline given that Rami and Mexes isn't the strongest pairing around. But, I am really looking forward to finally seeing Italy and England face each other. It'll be a change compared to playing France in 1998, 2000, 2006 and 2008.

England will be difficult for Italy. Probably very defensive.

I think England have what it takes to beat Italy. The way that team is set-up, it will be difficult for Italy to break England down.

I don't think Italy will try to break England down. I think they will play in the traditional Italian way against England. England will be trying to play a game that was invented by the Italians and they will lose at it.

The only hope we have at seeing an open game is if one team f***s up right at the start and there's an early goal. Other than that, I just think it'll be a really cagey match, probably ending 1-0 either way.
