France lack a playmaker rather, someone who can dictate the game like pirlo for example..
Nasri is garbage and Benz cant do everything on his own.

Benzema is the new Zidane.
Tall, technically gifted, can pass, dominates the AM area of the pitch....
Both are bald and of algerian descent

The problem with this current French side is the egos they hold. You have many: Evra, Ribery, Nasri, Menez etc. Also, away from the egos, apart from Ribery, the team didn't really function to what we expected. Nasri is one of the poorest players in the number 10 role, he takes too many touches, and doesn't release the ball earlier, subsequently resulting into chances not being created. Benzema is a top notch striker, but he needs to understand to adapt to different systems, instead of drifting between wings, he isn't at Real Madrid.

Evra and Nasri should be ignored for call-ups until further notice, along with Menez. Ribery is too good to not call up though, IMO. Ben Arfa is fine by me as long as he performs well, even though he didn't at the Euro. Overall, the team had a great run leading up to the tournament, so there appears to be improvement, just not quite enough for a country like France. However, apart from getting rid of the spoiled misbehaviors and the guys not good enough to get called up, there isn't much that can be done.
In a few years when the current crop of impressive youngsters grow into their prime, I suspect France will get back to the level that they were in the Zidane days.

I don't care how much they are good in clubs, they are not good with France and they are simply racailles.
Let's restart with men that behave like grown up men and that are passionate and patriotic.
I find it amusing how Evra is now the default scapegoat for you France fans, even though he played a lot better in that one game v England than that waste of space Clichy did for the remainder of the comp.
You should include Clichy too since he is not good enough for the national team.

Ribery was the hardest working player in the team. Debuchy was probably the stand-out player, but Ribery, despite being surrounded by mediocrity not by default, worked his socks off.

fully agree with this, infact in this tournament Evra>Clichy so i dont know why they try and blame it all on Evra when he was better by a far distance

He's certainly trying to be. Did you see how often he was dropping back to get the ball. It was like he had some deep-seated aversion to being in the opponents box. The problem is that France don't have a better striker. Maybe Giroud could turn into a starter, but I'm not convinced he was ready to be a starter in this tournament.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Benzema is the new Zidane.

Samir Nasri, Hatem Ben Arfa, Jeremy Menez and Yann M'Vila will reportedly appear before a French Football Federation (FFF) disciplinary panel just before the end of the month.
The hearing into the players' behaviour during France's Euro 2012 campaign has been set for July 27, according to AFP.
It is believed that Nasri is running the greatest risk of suspension, having caused controversy by launching a foul-mouthed tirade at the press box following his equaliser in Les Bleus' tournament opener against England. He was then involved in a heated exchange with a journalist following the quarter-final defeat to Spain.
Ben Arfa, meanwhile, reportedly had a dressing-room dispute with France boss Laurent Blanc after the 2-0 loss to Sweden, but assistant coach Alain Boghossian subsequently claimed that the pair shook hands soon after.
Menez landed himself in hot water for both insulting the referee in the Spain game, an indiscretion that earned him a yellow card, and then snubbing his captain, Hugo Lloris, though the latter show of disrespect was sorted out among the players concerned.
As for M'Vila, he refused to shake hands with Olivier Giroud, his replacement, or Blanc after being replaced against La Roja, but he later apologised for his actions.
