We need a world class CB.Not a DM converted to a CB.As the Masch experiment showed,it can backfire on the biggest of stages.I hope sense prevails.

Agree with you Alex. I feel that we aren't paying enough attention to players like T.Silva, Hummels etc. We need a central defender not a defensive midfield who can also play as a central defender. Oriol Romeu said he was fine playing as a central defender if he got some game time. He isn't even a world class holding midfielder... This is going to backfire big time...

Yeah, we'd have to pay for Lucas. Araujo's become a bit of a nobody, so a loan isn't a bad idea because IMO we need another forward. If he does well, we can extend the loan or make an offer. Otherwise send him back.

Tito has said that if we can't get a CB then he would have to pick B teamers as it has 'worked out well in the past'. Fontas a success? Barta and Muniesa may be different though.

He's had like zero chances to play for us. Prior to last season, he filled in a few times as a LB (he'd never played there in his life) and at CB he was fine, plenty of time to grow into the role. Last season he played like 3 times and then got injured, you can't make a judgement on that. He hasn't played enough first team football to criticise him for it, and at reserve level he was excellent. If he leaves he leaves, but stop saying he's trash.

Fontas > Chigrinsky, last season of Milito and Marquez.

I got too hooked on with trolls. tbh, I really was the only one of the ones who actually thought Fontas was good then I got trashed therefore I changed my opinion... Though I agree with you Kizz. Pep didn't promote this guy for a reason. Just one element of his game, that people have to consider him trash... He knows he needs to pick up his game and Im sure he will and has. He has been pretty good those games he played in though its still not time for him to play regularly. Definately could do with a loan though at the moment, he's fine.

Well... you aren't really in a position to "lol" considering that Real Madrid are willing to pay 40million for Modric when you have Sahin in the bench

I would be pretty happy if we got Agger, anyone who watched him in the Euro's must of seen the performances he put on. Especially in terms of leadership and command of those around him. He was at good as anyone defensively for the 3 games he played.

He is one of the few who I actually think has a legit chance of playing well for us back there.


However, I doubt its true.

Here in Denmark, I read (had it translated for me) and it doesnt seem very solid as a link.

It says us, Madrid and Man City are after him however nobody from any of the clubs have made an specific comments regarding him.

He also has 2 years left on his contract and Liverpools new coach, Rogers likely wants to keep him to start his new project there.

Seeing Carroll on the verge of leaving I don't think Liverpool need to sell any more players to increase transfer funds. Also Rogers needs someone like Agger because his team will be playing possession football just like Swansea did. But around €35 million would definitely tempt them. Not sure if the Dane is worth that much though. Is he really that good? I didn't really watch him this season but have watched him before in Liverpool and didn't see a special player. 3 matches in Euros shouldn't be the reference to how good he is.

Carroll is going? I doubt that very much.

Anyway, to me Agger is a very good defender and Liverpool have always looked considerably better with him than without.

He aint worth 35, but who else realistically? I also doubt it would take that much to tempt them.

Why not Koscielny though? He is better in air, faster and better passer of the ball (although Agger does send good long balls and some screamers). Koscielny's fitness is also quite extraordinary. The only advantage I see in Agger is more composed on the ball but it ain't like Koscielny is bad at that. Agger is also a bit of a thug imo.
