What's wrong with him leaving anyway? 25m for a player who's 30 next year. Arsenal could get someone younger.

I understand that players want a change, dont we all? If one can get even more money + easier chance of winning titles it is a no brainer for most people, though one will always want a good player to have special romantic feelings for only "your" club I guess.

Can someone tell me if they would leave a team they like to play with one they don't for an equal or lesser paycheck than they would currently be getting?

He certainly isn't poorly paid by any stretch of the imagination but if the man feels he can better himself somewhere else, let him be. I do appreciate Vibe's take but it's all too naive for my cynical liking.

And for the record, Ronaldo (Lima) transfer was pretty much worse than this. Also badge kissing is very overrated...

If it's ambition, I guess players like Podolski and Giroud aren't good enough for RVP to partner. It's total disrespect to his teammates as well.... You need to understand that the players are not fans, they're professionals. This is their job. This is no different than being loyal to the company you work for - if a better offer comes along, either because you would get more job satisfaction or more money, you would probably take it.

I know it might sound incredible for some of you here but life is not all about money . Money is extremely important nowadays of course but there are some values that are more important than money.

Van persie can leave , don't mind . but does he have to go to Man city ?!?

Henry , Fabregas left but at least it was for FCB .

If someone like De rossi is going to leave AS Roma for example , he won't go to Juve or Milan

Arsenal is taking an admirable route with this whole mess that we call football, and I have great respect towards the club, but the players that they court to join their ranks are in no different situations at their own respective clubs than van Persie and Fabregas are and were to Arsenal themselves.

i don't care if he wants to leave, even if it's for trophy or money. If you think your club isn't good enough for you, i will happily show you the door.

But the problem i have with him is going public about Arsenal not being good enough for him therefore putting us in a position where we could get cornered by both him and the other clubs.

At least Nasri had the decency/respect to keep playing and keeping his mouth shut until Arsenal felt the deal was good
