Arsenal boss Wenger has held talks with Sahin and persuaded the Turkish midfielder to join on a one-year loan deal.

Sahin, 23, wants to come to Arsenal for Champions League - even though Liverpool offered better financial terms to Real Madrid.

Liverpool are keen and offered to pay a higher proportion of his wages to Real Madrid but Sahin prefers Arsenal.

Sahin took German footbball by storm but has struggled to established himself at Real Madrid but Wenger is a long term admirer.

The fact that Liverpool offered more says to me that RM has no intention of selling. They just wanted him to get more playing time and CL experience. They don't care about the loan fee

Its interesting if we sign mvila as well as sahin. With the versatility that players have to play more than one position, i think these would be our options:

Pure DMs: Mvila
Holding mids: Arteta, sahin
Box to box mids: wilshere, mvila, diaby, sahin
Attacking mids: cazorla, wilshere, rosicky

Thats how i see it, mvilas best position is as a DM, arteta and sahin's best position is to hold. Cazorla's best as an AM or a right wing AM, rosicky is best as an AM, wilshers is best as a box to box, or potentially an AM. Interesting to see if wenger prefers:

Mirror also reporting Tottenham wants Chamakh on loan. Looks like I am not the only one who noticed we have a striker surplus, while that is another thing Spuds don't have enough of.

I don't mind selling to Spuds. I would rather convince them to take Park or better, Bendtner. I would still want to see Chamakh try to replicate his form from before he was benched. If anything, we are short of good strikers ourselves if we want to do more than challenge this season.
