Mourinho praising Benzegoal ahead of the classico!

Mourinho praised Benzema's contribution in the Amsterdam Arena, saying: "He scored a fantastic goal. When he plays well, the team plays well, he's a great player."

And in another interview;
"Benzema moves like a fish in water. Sometimes I play him as a number nine and sometimes as a number ten.He is a player whose game is based on movement."

Now lets hope he starts in the classico.

Benzema has been first choice for Mourinho for more than a season and a half and will remain same especially with the form that he is in. He's right in his assessment that the team plays better when Benzema plays well, his ability to link up with Ozil and Ronaldo last season was almost telepathic.

Mourinho gave Higuain a chance this season to start a few big matches, but the difference between the two players was clear, when Higuain plays well he plays "well" but when Benzema plays well the team plays well, Mourinho couldn't have said it better.

Don't really mind who starts between him and Higuain. Looks like it'll be Benzema though.

I prefer Benzema in this current state. He offers alot when it comes to building attacks, and counters. Vital when it comes to getting past the midfield and breaking down the defence.

Benzema has proven over the past two seasons or so that he's the better fit for this Madrid team. I'd be very disappointed if Higuain starts el clasico over Benzema.

Higuain deserves to start week in week out but I don't think he can do that at Madrid, it'd be in his own interest to move to a new club like Juventus over the summer, to achieve his fullest potential. If he stays it'd be great for Madrid, but he'd have to play second fiddle to Benzema again.

higuain is a classic poacher, but an extremly inefficient one.

Seeing as Benzema himself is a bit less patient and more hungry for personal success I'd still say Higuain is less likely to leave.

Think Higuain will start against Barca, but Benzema had a great game against Ajax, just like Higgy had a great game against them last season.. common lets not build our opinions based on that

Benzema and Ozil have been under performing really badly this season, and what other game than Barca to break the drought is there for Higgy

The game will not be decided by Higuain or Benzema; it will be more subtle.

Benzema is obviously starting; no question asked. We all know why. Some of us like him, some of us don't, but we all know why he should and will start.

This fact means Higuain is not worthy of a starting role at his current level.

Kaka will start the game; Madrid cant afford to lose; Madrid fans (bar those on this forum) have spoken; they chose Kaka over ozil.

or it means that Mou wants to rest him because he will be running alot against Barca, all teams do that before an important game for example Atleti rested 90% of their team against Plzen because they would be playing against Malaga on Sunday

Sorry to break your heart but i doubt Kaka will be on the bench let alone sniff the green part of the stadium

We will see about that (kaka starting) and when he does start and make a couple of assists or score a goal; i will not come here and rub it in your face. Just know that you are wrong and i will be happy.


Higuain running against Barca at Camp Nou? I dont think so; where did you get that?

The game will be subtle and it will be decided by the trio, Benzema, Ronaldo, Kaka. Marcelo might have something to say.

But kaka must start and madrid wont lose.

Higuain and Benzema are not starting together in the clasico Mourinho confirmed it in his pre-match presser. After Higgy's horror misses in the last match against Barcelona and Benzema's hot form, the only logical conclusion is that Benzema would be the preferred CF choice.

Di Maria is not playing in the centre, his work rate would be required on the wings, and Modric, Ozil and Kaka can all do a better job in the middle.

if they can do better in the middle they certainly haven't showed it(this season)

didn't see the presser so thats confirmed then, also Higgy might have had many misses but he still scored and we won... he knows himself that he can't miss many shots tomorrow so hoping he gets a brace
