The return match has been rescheduled for November 21, 2012 - a Wednesday. It will take place at La Bombonera. CBF demanded that the match take place in Argentina's capital.

The problem, however, is that 11/21 is between the 36th and 37th rounds of the Campeonato Brasileiro of 2012 - a tournament with 38 rounds. Recent years have shown that the top four spots are hotly contested until the very end. While it seems Fluminense needs only stay consistent to guarantee the title, Grêmio, Atlético Mineiro, Vasco, and São Paulo (and who knows, Internacional perhaps) will all be fighting to ensure they finish between 2nd and 4th so they get a Libertadores 2013 spot. In addition, Palmeiras is fighting relegation, and if the Argentines cap Barcos, he'll be out and Palmeiras will lose of its best players to avoid going to the 2nd division.

I am all for finishing what was started and few things would delight me more than to see Brazil's NT do a victory lap in an Argentine stadium, even if it is a relatively unimportant caça-níqueis like this two-game "cup." But the timing is absolutely awful. Given that this competition uses only domestic players, that the Campeonato Brasileiro's final matches will be played on December 2, and that the Argentine Torneio Inicial's last round occurs on December 9, couldn't this return match technically have been scheduled for the weekend of December 5th or even the Tuesday or Wednesday of the week of December 10-14? That way none of the teams in both leagues who will be competing for Libertadores berths would have players capped.

The 2014 World Cup mascot has been destroyed again, now in São Paulo. The other incidents happened in Porto Alegre and Brasília.

Real Madrid's left-back Marcelo has a right ankle injury and will miss Brazil's game vs Japan.

He'll be back only in 2013.

It seems Leandro Castán will take his place as there is no other full-back in the squad besides Adriano.

Sad for him.

Here's hoping Filipe Luis will be given a chance.

Alex turned down an offer from Cruzeiro, alleging family reasons.

And since Palmeiras are going to be relegated, it means Alex will almost certainly join Coritiba.

This was easily the best performance since Mano took over for me. Looks like Kaka is back to top form, he deserves it and we need someone like him in our team. I'm liking our new formation. I just hope Mano brings in Luiz Gustavo and Hernanes in place of Thiago Neves and Sandro. Filipe Luis should definitely be the backup for Marcelo but I highly doubt Mano will give him a chance.

I really hope Felipe Luis gets a chance with Marcelo injured. I like Marcelo but he's a huge defensive liability. He's usually good for one incredible screw up per game. Even against Iraq he left one of their players one on one with Diego Alves after a risky clearance went bad.

It was a good game today. Japan had a few dangerous chances but Diego Alves did well. He just needs to work on his aerial game some. The penalty was a gift but Ramires' goal should have counted. We created a lot of chances.

Everyone is after Bruno, not just Juventus. Kid has great potential. Was a goal scorer at Guarani, and has seemed to be on his way to do so at Botafogo.

He'll make a great pairing with Ademilson uptop for U-20 WCQ
