to sum this up he is my childhood hero and i clearly stated that im naming my child after him

but in an evaluation id say top 10-20

A striker who manages to reach 127 caps for Germany (2nd highest number of caps after Loddar), who played in 3 World Cups (while scoring 14 goals) and 3 Euros and who will soon be Germany's all-time top-scorer (currently on 67 goals, that is he only needs two more), definitely belongs to the crème de la crème.

Top 20 poacher imo.

Top 15.

Could easily go higher if Germany had won major silverware, or if he'd played for a big club with big success.

He's not just a poacher, BTW... Much more than that.

Di Stefano, Kopa, Puskas, Rumeniegge, Batigol, Crespo, Careca, Paolo Rossi, Baggio, Del Piero, Totti, Shevchenko, Cruyff, Best, Dalglish, Rush, Eusebio, etc., etc.

Footy has been played at a top level for over 70 years now. He's need to be in the best 7 of a decade to be in the top 50 at minimum. He's not a top 7 striker of any 10 year period.

Very good though. This game just has a lot of history.

And keep in mind that Europe became the best area for footy in the 80s. Before that, South America had a ton more talent and better quality overall than Europe.

No he isnt in my top 50, there were may many strikers who were greater than him. He is not evn top 5 German Strikers for me.

You forgot to mention that he has played all those tournaments because Germany were relatively unimpressive in the striking department as tournaments played and caps isn't anywhere near enough to justify being one of the top strikers. He will be Germany's all time but will never reach Mueller in terms of goal scoring to game ratio in any sense of the word. His world cup goals weren't exactly decisive aside from 2-3 whereas the others were in group stages including a hat trick against Saudi Arabia. When you have that many appearances in the world cup your bound to have that many goals especially when you don't have much competition in your squad. Also his club record is relatively inconsistent. Cannot be considered anywhere near the top strikers of all time

not exactly a poacher or classic CF in any sense, but his hold-up play and passing is the bomb, his goal scoring record a dream of consistency come true, and his work rate is exemplary.

All while being a true gentleman, with undisputable record of fair play, and a great club record with Kaiserslautern, Bremen, and now Nazio. Didn't win anything, but TBH that's hardly his fault with the clubs he played in, and the German NT era he's had his best years in.

Better players have won less in the past.

he is an admirable individual but come on now lets be serious top 20 striker of alltime? Seriously football must be a poor sport if Klose is among 20 best ever striker of this game.
