Re: Persona 5
There are three endings, not counting the game overs for not clearing Palaces in time.
Getting the true ending is super easy in this one. In P4 there were some very specific choices that had to be made.

Re: Persona 5
I thought the same thing at the time but don't you have the Persona compendium from the start? it means you can take another any time you want for relatively cheap (something I didn't realize until I'd played 50 hrs ffs)
I probably came across 5 or so of every treasure demon during my playthrough and I didn't use any of the stuff that can boosts the frequency they appear
just use it now

Re: Persona 5
Heard the Persona 5 translation was a bit sketchy which I can believe. I did think it went overboard at times with the characters hammering home the ROTTEN ADULTS theme throughout the game. I really enjoyed the game but didn't think the characters were very fleshed out and the themes weren't particularly deep either, which is what I heard the series is quite often praised for.
A lot of the characters were just your typical anime types and the game was littered with anime tropes.
again not that I didn't enjoy every minute of it but it was mostly the gameplay and the life simulator aspects that hooked me more than any of the characters/story which I just found decent to pretty good
though regarding characters and themes, I can't really judge outside of the main plotline and characters, there were so many confidants I just couldn't progress very far with since I was focusing on the ones I'd been with since the start. One of the reasons I want to replay it. It's just daunting to replay a 100 hour game again

Re: Persona 5
I think that was probably the best palace in terms of themes
it peaked there, again not shitting on the game but the other palaces weren't as engaging, like you really wanted to absolutely ruin that pos, you were invested in bringing him down

Re: Persona 5
actually how would you lads rank the palaces? for me
1 > 2 > 6 > 7 > 4 > 3 > 8 (if you consider it one) > 5
1 > 2 > 6 > 7 > 4 > 3 > 8 (if you consider it one) > 5

Re: Persona 5
I felt that way about most of them tbh
My rank would be....
7 > 2 > 1 > 6 > 4 > 3 > 5
Found it really hard because while some of them which are lower down are mechanically more interesting i found the story and themes to be better in others so bumped them down.
For example i don't think 2 was that great from a mechanical point of view but jesus christ was the themes and the villain great. ( not the actual boss fight though, that was too easy)
I enjoyed them all except 5 though ( that *bleep* airshaft puzzle)
One of the games biggest strengths to me how much palace had great villains ( for the most part ) and consistently had amazing and unique quality palaces to explore.
I was just impressed how unique they were and how high quality they were each and every time.

Re: Persona 5
I dont know the numbers, but i will rank them by names
My criteria is basically the the themes of the palaces lol
Man, Mementos sucks, i was doing it regularly but i hate that 100 floor shit, its an ode to the old Persona games with the 1000floor towers. Depths of Mementos was absolute cancer, save room was so far off, legit cancer like, almost broke my controller because i died twice to brainjack c*nts and had to start twice.
- Spoiler:
- Kaneshiro>Futaba>Shido>Kamoshido>Nijima>Okumura>Madarame>Mementos

Re: Persona 5
I didn't mind Mementos, mostly because I did it throughout the game so I didn't go through tons of floors at once. Had to grind for materials a bit towards the end but I never struggled there. It was kinda boring but each floor took an average of like 1 minute

Re: Persona 5
If i did just themes i'd rank it very differently tbh
Also agree on the Depths of Momentos, i didn't enjoy that at all.

Re: Persona 5
I'd go with:
1 > 4 > 6 > 3 > 2 > 7 > 5
Kamoshida's Palace was obviously the most hard hitting and a really strong start.
The pyramid was something straight out of Persona 4 and had one of my favourites tracks so it ranks high with me.
The casino gets plus points when you factor in a 2nd playthrough. Knowing what's going to happen and who the traitor is makes it a lot more interesting.
The bank beats out the museum on music alone.
7 and 5 were annoyingly long with too many puzzles and bosses.

I was never able to get Makoto as a confidant lol, dunno how.
Ann was the one i romanced, i could have romanced a couple of others but didn't bother.
Would have romanced Makoto if i could though, hell with her looks i just think she's my favourite character full stop.

Re: Persona 5
you had to hang out with her a few times, I only got Makoto to rank 3 or 4, but you could find her outside of the student council room on certain days which iirc was next to the library

I would have had 4 higher if it wasn't for the annoying puzzle and the most annoying boss fight in the game.
In general i enjoyed it a lot outside of that, as for 7 the reason i enjoyed it so much was the themes and the story of it all i think.
I agree it probably had too many bosses and puzzles.
