Wilshere was not better than Kroos. Wilshere was more flashy with his dribbling, thats it. Kroos had a much bigger influence on hia teams play. Kroos was one of the men of the match. Wilshere was probably Arsenals best player, but Kroos was better.

That being said, Kroos is better at everything except dribbling, and overall is the better, more complete player. I would rather take Kroos at Juve, as i think Kroos could play Pirlos role beautifully.

Wilshere all day long . Any player will look better and more tactically aware when playing alongside Schweinsteiger and Martinez . Kroos is nothing special, hes on Coquelins level maybe .

I wonder how this Cackelin level player was one of Bundesliga's best midfielders with Bayer Leverkusen then.

In terms of passing,dictating the tempo,shooting/scoring goals in all these departments he is better than Wilshere.He is slow and his style may not be the most 'appealing' but that doesnt hinder his effectiveness especially while playing as an AM.He is an overall better player than Wilshere for me at the moment.No doubt.

Wilshere was one of the best midfielders in the premier league with Bolton ffs at a time when the premier league was undoubtedly a stronger than the bundesliga .

Perhaps I was a little harsh ( although Coquelin is very underrated in my opinion ), but all I'm saying is Wilshere is exceptionally talented and in my opinion a better player than Kroos . Although the finish by Kroos in the game on tuesday was admittedly of great quality .

Saying that you think Wilshere is better is fine, even if it's wrong, but ignoring Kroos' obvious talent is just pure denialism.

I don't watch BL so I won't speak about that but from what I've seen in the CL Kroos looks very very good - I am filled with jelly

Right now I think I'm going to have to say Kroos narrowly...But there is a loud voice in my head that is saying if their roles were reversed and Wilshere had the players around him that Kroos does, Jack would be the better player

So I'm going to cheat and say that I think Kroos is a better AM but Wilshere is a better CM :coffee:

Well, Kroos has nowhere near the pace Wilshere does, and he usually doesn't play deep, so his defensive play is very lacking.

But TBH, Wilshere's defensive play hasn't impressed me either - did I watch too little of him, or is he really not that great concerning tackles and interceptions?

I think given his circumstances he's a pretty good tackler, but I don't think he is anything special re: interceptions

It can be tough to tell though, for instance Arsenals last two EPL games were Sunderland and Stoke, and because Arsenal had so much possession (and b/c both of those teams are hoof-happy) there wasnt a lot of intercepting/tackling for him to do

But then against Liverpool he went 3/3 tackling and had 2 interceptions

I can see myself preferring Wilshere in a team even though I think Kroos is better.
First off, I can see both of them fitting into the same team, so if I already had a playmaking CAM, I'd take Wilshere.
If I had a playmaking DM/CM, I'd take Kroos.

If I had neither, I'd probably take Kroos, though.

Agreed, I think the 2 of them would be a perfect fit for 2/3rds of a 3 man midfield, they would be basically interchangeable tactically, which would be a nightmare to defend against

If I had to choose one I would probably choose Wilshere. His injury problem worries me, but I generally think its easier to find good attacking midfielders than it is to find good CMs, so based on that alone I would always be more likely to pick the CM in any debate between the two

Kroos right now is better; he makes better decisions, has a bigger impact, better end product and overall is just smarter.

Wilshere has more individual ability IMO but as i have said many times talent doesn't mean shit.

On the game though, i think its unfair to compare the two....

Bayern are tactically better, have better players and more balance.

I'm sure Wilshere would look a lot better than he did for Arsenal alongside Piggy and Martinez and on that same token i'm sure Kroos would look worse than he did for Bayern alongside Ramsey and Arteta but he would probably still have performed better because i said right now Kroos is on another level in regards to decision making.

Wilshere is wonderfully talented and catches the eye of most people but right now he needs to improve his decision making, end product and overall just be smarter.

Something Kroos has nailed and why he's one of the best AM's in the world and Wilshere is a massively talented player with lots to prove.

There really isn't a reason why he won't be at that level in a year or 2 time.
