Barca are too passive with Iniesta at LW and Fabregas starting. Villa/Tello should start. They need some more quality on the wings. Also their pressing needs to be a bit better. AC Milan were walking past it at times last week.

I hoped Real would win, but I never thought it would be that easy.
Barcelona can't beat Real anymore. Mourinho found the perfect formula to neutralize Barcelona in the long run.

Re: Copa del Rey | SF (Second leg) | FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid
This team has been figured out for awhile now, it was only a matter of time until something like this happened. By defending narrowly and packing players behind the ball you crowd the area in between the lines and starve Messi of the space he depends on most and you basically shut down Barcelona's creativity and incisiveness. It's been proved time and time again by many teams. It also doesn't help if Pedro is now trying to be a passing fulcrum instead of making inside runs, or by jamming Fabregas down the throat of the first team.
Now, this wouldn't be such a problem if there were wingers and Fabregas making inside runs, giving width and taking advantage of the space left by players covering Messi, but this isn't happening because I think the team isn't being utilized properly.
The midfield should always be the tried and true Xaviesta and Busquets in big games at least. The attack should have two of Tello Villa or Pedro. Personally I think Tello on the left wing with Villa on the right wing roaming centrally.

Re: Copa del Rey | SF (Second leg) | FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid
Attack is not really the problem for Barca i feel. The intensity on the pressing is no longer there and the CBs are downright atrocious at times.
A lot of the goals i remember happened because Barca created a turnover in the opponent's half and went at them quicker than they could recover. Because the ball was recovered so quickly, fullbacks could stay up and attack the flanks constantly. Now, your fullbacks actually need to go back deep and they don't help with the width as much.
Now, that's not to say that Pedro, Sanchez and Cesc are doing a great job. They're not.
The other thing is that Xavi has dropped form massively and Iniesta is not what he was in 2010. The midfield dominance is not as pronounced.
Milan game is basically the season for Barca. La Liga is already done.

Iniesta has been outstanding this season, not his fault he's been played on the left wing where its easy for teams like Madrid to deal with him.
I called it long before he joined, but Cesc has ruined the balance of the team.

Iniesta has been Barcelona's best player this season imo. Was their 2nd best tonight with busquets being 1st
Cesc is ruining the system badly. There is no need for an extra midfielder. U can't have 5 mids, 1 pedro who thinks he is figo all of a sudden and just 1 attacking thread who gets marked by 10 players per game.
barca's best seasons always had 2 forwards in recent years

The defense is bad but it's always been, the teams attack and midfield has been the defense mostly, maybe this will change when Puyold finally retires but even more worrying is the cluelessness and lack of penetration in attack.
