Was an effective tactic though.
It's called tactics. A team should adapt their tactics to the team they play against, to make their match easier, and Conte did exactly that(he has seen Barca-Celtic for sure, when Barca had 80% possession and did nothing). That's why everyone knows how to play against Barca, because bar possession, they don't know anything else. I've seen Juve in the past 2 seasons, playing both possession style and counter attacking.

Conte was just showing how versatile our system is and how we can play different styles of football. You know, like how a proper manager should do? Vary his tactics depending on the opponent, where it's being played ect.
Iv also seen Juventus totally dominate possession one match them totally sit back and counter the next.
Also is it just me or was juve's away performance vs Celtic one of the best tactical performances in recent times? It couldn't of home any better. Loads of people thought we'd struggle at Celtic park but we won convincingly 3-0
If mou does it tactical masterclass, anyone else does it it's negative tactics

@ LM
But what if he has a "flu" aka Varaneitis again?
Rafa actually has ownership of some of Messi's image rights now, if Barca ever sell Messi a portion of the fee would have to be given to Varane.

What Barca does is the same IMO, but the difference is that they are doing it with the ball at their feet. Tons of passes in their own half are the same with parking-the-bus tactics
LE : if you're calling Catenaccio, anti-football, tons of passes in your own half is anti-football too.

The ostracism has yet to affect young Rafa but who knows. Ostracism works in mysterious ways

They only pass in their own half when teams press them. Usually they look to dominate in the opposition's half.

Pressing is part of football, a big part. It's the same with Barca's progressive style, but without the ball. For example you press them, win the ball, and then shoot. Isn't it the same with starting with the ball from the keeper to the opposition's box and shoot ? It's all about movement, with or without the ball.

Re: Predict the last 4
Barca's style is to keep the ball. If when they're getting pressed they attempt to pass into the opposition half, they could lose the ball. I doubt they'd compromise.

That's one phase, from one match, and they played 250+ matches.

Haven't watched that goal in some time and I'm only now seeing the vast amount of space that was given to Higuain in the build up to the goal. I assume that space was void of Nani I suppose...
Messi's goal was still better though

Re: Predict the last 4
Juve, Dortmund, Real, PSG
Juve and PSG calls are based purely on a hunch, I call Bayern to dominate and get hit on the counter, going out on away goals. PSG to bully Barca into submission, and Ibra to make an offensive comment after the match.
This is based on nothing I have observed in the matches this season, it is purely a gut feeling.

Why would anybody actually want a Classico Final? If we played Inter 16 times in two seasons I would be sick to fkn death of the sight of them.

So no one wants to talk about how Bayern, Juve and PSG have some important players on a yellow?

Doesn't really matter because they played the same way in all 250 of those matches.likeastar wrote:Albiceleste wrote:likeastar wrote:

You're talking like it's FIFA13 or something, you can't just endlessly pass the ball in your own half as a means of "parking the bus/antifootball"
cant even believe im replying ridiculous

Good chance of seeing Licht and Vidal pickup yellows in the 1st leg.If thats the case i would hope to see Caceres play at RWB instead of Padoin with Pogba filling in for Vidal ofc.I think we have able backups imo(obviously not as good but they arent scrubs either) in case these aforementioned players get suspended.
