Lets Boycott goal.com!

As a protest of them closing the forums! Then they will see how huge ammount of readers they got through their forums...

After Wednesday, when their forum closes, it will become just another random not-so-reliable football website to me. I visit those occasionally, a few times a month. Their forum made me go there daily.

I don't hold it against them. Also you realise they probably have thousands and thousands of visitors every day? they wouldn't miss us in that respect.

things seem better this way
btw i hate the blue color of the layout. Especially the menu bar, with home/gallery/faq..etc

I can safely say I rarely, if ever, clicked through to their main website.

goal.com is the first thing i click in the morning.i would continue to do so.no hard feelings coz we have a a new forum here. thanks to the mods.

Do you know how many views each thread gets? It's incredible. It's like each poster is performing for a HUGE audience. Like I'd make a thread and it would get like 500 views.
Will they miss us? Time will tell. I think they're teste di cazzo. We were loyal to Goal.com and gave them many visitors etc. I really don't see the point of what they did.

Did you actually downvote me because you disagree with me? Thats totally not what it's for.
But yeah, fair enough that the threads do get a lot of traffic, but i'm not sure how much value that holds to them, being a business. They had to pay to run that forum, and it probably didn't help them commercially.

They had a chance to bridge the gap between the site and the forum by involving us in their articles and reviews, but they lost out.
I doubt I'll visit there much anymore.

Well, I was there when BBC.co.uk decided to shut down their 606 forum. From the numbers they gave, it was said that the forum was only a tiny part of the users that visited the page proper. So I doubt goal.com will actually notice some forum users boycotting them.

I'd say that a lot of people will still visit goal.com anyway though. they won't just lose 200,000 people on their full website because they shut down a forum.
