Juve beat Napoli to Coppa Italia
Juventus have beaten Napoli in extra time for the Coppa Italia Primavera youth team trophy despite ending the game with nine men.
The first leg had ended 1-1 in Turin, but the Bianconeri broke through from the penalty spot with Padovan after 56 minutes.
Napoli drew level at a surprisingly full Stadio San Paolo with just three minutes to go, as Roberto Insigne – the younger brother of Lorenzo – set up Novothny.
Juve almost won it in stoppages, but Sakor’s screamer was denied by the crossbar, so the Final went to extra time.
The Turin teenagers got the winner with Mattiello in the second half of extra time, but the celebrations went a little too far and Gerbaudo was sent off for making offensive gestures towards the crowd.
Mattiello also saw red in the final moments, but nine-man Juventus held on for the 2-1 victory and lift the trophy 3-2 on aggregate.
Napoli 1-2 Juventus aet
Scorers: Padovan pen 56 (J), Novothny 87 (N), Mattiello 106 (J)
Napoli Primavera: Crispino, Allegra, Lasicki, Celiento, Nicolao, Palmiero, Radosevic, Fornito, Novothny, Insigne, Tutino
Juventus Primavera: Branescu; Rugani, Magnusson, Garcia Tena; Untersee, Slivka, Schiavone, Kabashi, Mattiello; Beltrame, Padovan
Sent off: Gerbaudo 106 (J), Mattiello 118 (J)
