AC Milan are looking at the prospect of replacing manager Massimillano Allegri after approaching Andre Villas-Boas with the opportunity of managing the Italian giants.

The former Tottenham Hotspur coach was sacked by the London side during this season’s Premier League after their 5-0 loss to Liverpool and could take the top job at the Rossoneri before the start of the next season.

According to English newspaper the Daily Mirror, AC Milan are looking at Andre Villas-Boas to take over the reigns at the San Siro after the Portuguese manager had been contacted by Milan officials about his services and the possibility of replacing current head coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Vills-Boas has also been tracked by English side West Brom Albion with the possibility of taking their vacant position and becoming manager but he rejected the chance to speak to the club.

Milan could sell Philippe Mexes to Monaco and bring Emiliano Viviano in from Arsenal this month.

According to SportMediaset, the Rossoneri are looking to clear out certain players in order to raise funds for other transfers.

Mexes is the favourite to leave San Siro after being benched in recent outings, though he has been suffering from an eye infection.

Monaco would be prepared to sign the former Roma centre-back, who joined Milan as a free agent, and match his €4m per season wages.

Milan would then used the money saved from that salary to help pay for Radja Nainggolan from Cagliari.

Meanwhile, it is also suggested that Viviano is the target to become Christian Abbiati’s understudy in goal.

The former Fiorentina and Bologna shot-stopper has not played at all since joining Arsenal over the summer and would welcome a return to Italy.

Gabriel would be loaned out to gain more first team experience after some mixed performances this season.

The Rossoneri are thought to be keen on signing the 23-year-old during the January transfer window, but his agent claims that the Italian international is fully satisfied with his role in the Magpies’ squad and loves playing in the Premier League.

Vigorelli spoke to Eurosport about his client’s transfer situation and closed to the door on a possible move to AC Milan this winter.

“Davide is doing wonderfully at Newcastle,” said the agent.

“He’s secured his position, he’s already played in 19 games this season and he loves English football.

“He certainly won’t leave the club now and I don’t think he’ll even have the desire to do so in the future.”

Davide Santon joined the Toon from Inter in 2011 and has scored one goal in his total of 74 league appearances for the club thus far.

In time, dear Davide.

The Daily Star Sunday understands Milan are paying Balotelli’s £20million fee in instalments and Chelsea are fully aware of the Italy striker’s current situation.

After a downpayment, Milan are coughing up £4.5m a year until the fee is settled.

Balotelli, 23, returned to Italy a year ago after a controversial spell at City.

He has also been linked with Galatasaray, managed by his former Inter and City boss Roberto Mancini.

If reports are to be believed, Torino right-back Danilo D’Ambrosio is edging closer to a switch to Eternal City club Roma.

While the 25-year-old has also been linked with AC Milan, he recently refused to sign an extension to his current contract which runs out in June 2014, with Toro president Urbano Cairo declaring that he would be sold in January.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabatini will be pushing hard in the next few days to conclude a deal and beat Serie A rivals Milan to signing of the sought-after defender.

As well as Milan, Inter are also monitoring the player.

The Napoli-native has scored 10 goals in 119 appearances for the Granata since making the move from Serie B side Juve Stabia in July 2008

If management really wants him then what the fck are they waiting for? Get him before our rivals do ffs.

AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy could be one of Arsenal's January transfer targets, SportsDirect News understands.

Arsene Wenger is known to be mulling over a number of options as he looks to improve his options upfront this winter, and El Shaarawy is thought to be one of the players on the Frenchman's shortlist.

The Italian international is currently set for a spell on the sidelines through injury, which could complicate a move, and it is thought that Arsenal will only look at him if they fail in their pursuits for other targets such as Diego Costa, Dimitar Berbatov and Mirko Vucinic.

El Shaarawy has not managed to find his best form in recent months, and it is thought that Milan may be welling to accept a cut-price fee for his services as they look to revamp their struggling squad.

Despite his recent struggles, the 21-year-old remains highly regarded as a promising young talent, and would certainly add an extra option upfront for the Gunners, who have had to rely solely on Olivier Giroud in that position this season.

galliani said recently that we have 30 players now and without few players leaving, they are not going to sign anyone (naingolaan, d'ambrosio. whoever.)

its just a paper talk but i am reading saponara is considered to be exchanged with d'ambrosio... i would be pissed if that were to happen...

saponara is a better player, and our management will regret big time!

AC Milan are considering cutting their losses by selling Philippe Mexes in the January transfer window.

The defender is one of the club’s top earners on €4 million a season which the Berlusconi family see as excessive.

According to both Tuttosport and Sportmediaset the player could be sold to Monaco in the current transfer window.

Milan are actively seeking January reinforcements with money from sales going toward moves for the likes of Radja Nainggolan.

Mexes would be reunited with former Roma boss Claudio Ranieri at Monaco with the club more than willing to meet his wage demands.

At the same time the Rossoneri have returned to the idea of signing current Liverpool full-back Aly Cissokho.

The Frenchman was a target of Milan in 2009 and now finds himself on a season-long loan from Valencia.

Milan will look to Adil Rami to replace Mexes in the first team instead of exploiting the pairs international experience.

Mexes has played 65 matches for Milan with his contract expiring in 2015.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits they're interested in Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan.

Galliani, though, says they must sell before considering bringing in the Belgian.

"Nainggolan? Now we have a squad of 30, we need to cut two or three players, then we'll see if there is a midfielder available to being in," said Galliani.

Once again, sell the fckin deadweight already.

Tbh English rags are as bad as Italian rags. For example, Sky Sports and BBC are very reliable in England but most of the others suck. For Italy, legitimacy of the reports depend on which club the paper is talking about. CDS is reliable on Roma, Gazetta on Inter etc.

Yeah, but there's a reason for the variability with the Italian rags: CDS is based in Rome, GDS is based in Milan, and Tuttosport is based in Turin.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star is just another English tabloid obsessed with Balotelli. They will completely fabricate articles in order to include the name "Balotelli" is in their headlines.

The race for Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan's signature is over as the player is going to join Roma, according to AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani.

The Belgium international, valued at around €14 million, is a highly sought-after midfielder, with the Rossoneri, Juventus, Napoli, Giallorossi and other European clubs interested in acquiring his services.

However, Galliani says there is only one destination in his mind where the 25-year-old is heading.

"Nainggolan will not be going to Milan,” Galliani told Sky Sport Italia. “I believe the bidding war to be over, anyway.

“If I had to bet – not that I can, because I’m a club director and we’re not allowed to – but if I had to indicate an option then I’d say he’s going to Roma. As far as I know, that is the situation.”

Milan, 18-time Italian champions, have already signed Adil Rami and Keisuke Honda in January as they look to improve on their current position of 13th in Serie A.

However, further arrivals look improbable until players leave San Siro, with Galliani keen to avoid an over-staffed squad.

He told reporters: "Currently our squad is at 30 - we need to thin that out by two or three players, then we will see if a midfielder can arrive."

AC Milan have reportedly identified Valencia’s Ever Banega as a midfield target for the January transfer window.

The Rossoneri were tracking Parma’s Marco Parolo and Cagliari’s Radja Nainggolan, though it appears as though the Belgian has all but joined Roma.

According to Tuttosport the Rossoneri are now looking at Valencia’s Argentinian international Ever Banega.

The 25 year-old has played over 150 games for Los Murciélagos and can adopt an offensive or defensive style of play.

Milan CEO Adriano Galliani is thought to have made an identical proposition to Valencia as he had for Adil Rami: a loan with the right of purchase.

The Spanish side are understood to want a figure of €10 million to surrender the former Boca Juniors star.

I prefer Jorginho but Banega won't be too bad. Then again, this being reported by Tuttosport which means this is most likely BS.

Adriano Galliani insists there is no chance of AC Milan letting Bryan Cristante go out on loan after the midfielder's impressive performance in Monday's Serie A win over Atalanta.

The Rossoneri CEO is adamant that the 18-year-old, who scored his first goal for the club in the 3-0 win at San Siro, is staying put - despite talk of a temporary move to Atletico Madrid, Genoa or Parma until the end of the season.

“He’s going nowhere. I have already spoken to him and his agent and he won’t be moving,” Galliani told the club’s official website.

“He’ll carve out some space for himself here at AC Milan. He scored a similar goal in the Uefa Youth League against Barcelona.

“Cristante has made his debut when he’s still a teenager and should still be a youth team player. But we’re starting to bring some youth players through to the first team and that’s pleasing.”

Cristante, meanwhile, has promised to work hard in order to try and keep his place in Massimiliano Allegri’s starting 11.

“I always train well and I hope I’ll have more chances to play. I’m happy playing wide or in the middle and I’ll do whatever the coach asks me to do,” the youngster declared.

“It’s definitely pleasing that the club wants to keep me here. I just want to keep on pushing ahead and grow as best I can.

“Monday was emotional, my first match at the San Siro. I’m very happy with my debut and we’re a good group. [Mario] Balotelli told me to stay calm ahead of the match.

MARIO BALOTELLI: I AM STAYING

Mario Balotelli has rubbished reports that he could leave AC Milan during the January transfer window.

There have been reports that the Rossoneri are considering cashing in on their most prized asset, with the club forced to issue a statement last month denying that owner Silvio Berlusconi had tired of the Italy international's propensity for making headlines on and off the pitch.

However, Balotelli, who has been linked with a reunion with former Inter boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, insists that there is no chance of him leaving San Siro this month.

"I am staying at Milan," the striker is quoted by Chi. "I have to get ready for the World Cup and stay calm."

The 23-year-old Balotelli has netted six times in 13 Serie A appearances for Milan so far this season.

Welcome to the forums! Very Happy Glad to have you.

I have heard us linked to Fernando recently. I am unfamiliar with the details of the rumour, however I assume it speaks of us signing him for free at the end of the season rather than in January? He would be a competent reserve for De Jong and give us a trusted third option as a single defensive pivot which we have lacked since Ambrosini's departure to protect against injury to both Nigel and Riccardo. My approval of such a transfer would rest on our ability to free up space for such a transfer by successfully moving on some of our deadwood in the summer and his wage demands. I imagine that we will face competition for his signature given that he will be available for free though and given the almost certain lack of Champions League football it is not hard to imagine a more tempting offer presenting itself.

Also on M99's earlier posts it's excellent news to hear that our management is prepared to show confidence in Cristante rather than sacrificing part of his contract and sending him away.

Thank you both Smile It's a pleasure to be here.
I know it's a bit rude to just barge in, but at first I was thinking about introducing myself. On the other hand, I thought there wasn't going to be anyone interested due to the fact that I'm a new member.
Glad to be greeted warmly, guys! Very Happy

As far as Fernando is concerned, Gianlcua Di Marzio reported the following:
Love at first sight between Milan and Fernando, this is a love story that started in Brazil. Galliani flew to South America to spend New Year’s Eve in Brazil, and this is where the Fernando idea was born. He had meetings and contacts with the agent for the Porto midfielder, they made progress and there are the conditions for an agreement but some details still need to be ironed out. Fernando was offered a contract for 3 million euro net per season, his deal with Porto is expiring and he can sign with any team for next season. There is some stiff competition, Juventus tried but now they are out, since the requests from the agent where too high. Napoli started the contacts but they are pessimistic, while Inter has been pursuing him for awhile but are far behind. Milan is ready to close the deal, and they would like to anticipate the signing to January since Fernando has an EU passport. They need to reach a deal with Porto. Milan is ready to close the deal, their objective is close.
Since it's sth that Di Marzio has reported, I suppose there is some truth in it Smile

IMHO, in case Fernando Reges would be the first-string, and NDJ the reserve. or at least I prefer the Brazilian as player.
good player but infact I don't understand what it has to do with needs of Milan .. Naingolaan, the initial target, was a different player (and yes, functional)

I'd be very curious to know just how the club will respond to the knowledge that we will have a new manager next year with regards to their transfer strategy. Whilst I can understand the desire not to miss out on a player due to hesitancy, it is important that our transfer strategy addresses the vision of a new manager rather than restricting his options upon arrival.
