AC Milan are looking at the prospect of replacing manager Massimillano Allegri after approaching Andre Villas-Boas with the opportunity of managing the Italian giants.

The former Tottenham Hotspur coach was sacked by the London side during this season’s Premier League after their 5-0 loss to Liverpool and could take the top job at the Rossoneri before the start of the next season.

According to English newspaper the Daily Mirror, AC Milan are looking at Andre Villas-Boas to take over the reigns at the San Siro after the Portuguese manager had been contacted by Milan officials about his services and the possibility of replacing current head coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Vills-Boas has also been tracked by English side West Brom Albion with the possibility of taking their vacant position and becoming manager but he rejected the chance to speak to the club.

Milan could sell Philippe Mexes to Monaco and bring Emiliano Viviano in from Arsenal this month.

According to SportMediaset, the Rossoneri are looking to clear out certain players in order to raise funds for other transfers.

Mexes is the favourite to leave San Siro after being benched in recent outings, though he has been suffering from an eye infection.

Monaco would be prepared to sign the former Roma centre-back, who joined Milan as a free agent, and match his €4m per season wages.

Milan would then used the money saved from that salary to help pay for Radja Nainggolan from Cagliari.

Meanwhile, it is also suggested that Viviano is the target to become Christian Abbiati’s understudy in goal.

The former Fiorentina and Bologna shot-stopper has not played at all since joining Arsenal over the summer and would welcome a return to Italy.

Gabriel would be loaned out to gain more first team experience after some mixed performances this season.

AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy could be one of Arsenal's January transfer targets, SportsDirect News understands.

Arsene Wenger is known to be mulling over a number of options as he looks to improve his options upfront this winter, and El Shaarawy is thought to be one of the players on the Frenchman's shortlist.

The Italian international is currently set for a spell on the sidelines through injury, which could complicate a move, and it is thought that Arsenal will only look at him if they fail in their pursuits for other targets such as Diego Costa, Dimitar Berbatov and Mirko Vucinic.

El Shaarawy has not managed to find his best form in recent months, and it is thought that Milan may be welling to accept a cut-price fee for his services as they look to revamp their struggling squad.

its just a paper talk but i am reading saponara is considered to be exchanged with d'ambrosio... i would be pissed if that were to happen...

AC Milan are considering cutting their losses by selling Philippe Mexes in the January transfer window.

The defender is one of the club’s top earners on €4 million a season which the Berlusconi family see as excessive.

According to both Tuttosport and Sportmediaset the player could be sold to Monaco in the current transfer window.

Milan are actively seeking January reinforcements with money from sales going toward moves for the likes of Radja Nainggolan.

Mexes would be reunited with former Roma boss Claudio Ranieri at Monaco with the club more than willing to meet his wage demands.

At the same time the Rossoneri have returned to the idea of signing current Liverpool full-back Aly Cissokho.

The Frenchman was a target of Milan in 2009 and now finds himself on a season-long loan from Valencia.

Milan will look to Adil Rami to replace Mexes in the first team instead of exploiting the pairs international experience.

Mexes has played 65 matches for Milan with his contract expiring in 2015.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits they're interested in Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan.

Galliani, though, says they must sell before considering bringing in the Belgian.

"Nainggolan? Now we have a squad of 30, we need to cut two or three players, then we'll see if there is a midfielder available to being in," said Galliani.

The race for Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan's signature is over as the player is going to join Roma, according to AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani.

The Belgium international, valued at around €14 million, is a highly sought-after midfielder, with the Rossoneri, Juventus, Napoli, Giallorossi and other European clubs interested in acquiring his services.

However, Galliani says there is only one destination in his mind where the 25-year-old is heading.

"Nainggolan will not be going to Milan,” Galliani told Sky Sport Italia. “I believe the bidding war to be over, anyway.

Adriano Galliani insists there is no chance of AC Milan letting Bryan Cristante go out on loan after the midfielder's impressive performance in Monday's Serie A win over Atalanta.

The Rossoneri CEO is adamant that the 18-year-old, who scored his first goal for the club in the 3-0 win at San Siro, is staying put - despite talk of a temporary move to Atletico Madrid, Genoa or Parma until the end of the season.

Mario Balotelli has rubbished reports that he could leave AC Milan during the January transfer window.

There have been reports that the Rossoneri are considering cashing in on their most prized asset, with the club forced to issue a statement last month denying that owner Silvio Berlusconi had tired of the Italy international's propensity for making headlines on and off the pitch.

However, Balotelli, who has been linked with a reunion with former Inter boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, insists that there is no chance of him leaving San Siro this month.

"I am staying at Milan," the striker is quoted by Chi. "I have to get ready for the World Cup and stay calm."

I have heard us linked to Fernando recently. I am unfamiliar with the details of the rumour, however I assume it speaks of us signing him for free at the end of the season rather than in January? He would be a competent reserve for De Jong and give us a trusted third option as a single defensive pivot which we have lacked since Ambrosini's departure to protect against injury to both Nigel and Riccardo. My approval of such a transfer would rest on our ability to free up space for such a transfer by successfully moving on some of our deadwood in the summer and his wage demands. I imagine that we will face competition for his signature given that he will be available for free though and given the almost certain lack of Champions League football it is not hard to imagine a more tempting offer presenting itself.

Also on M99's earlier posts it's excellent news to hear that our management is prepared to show confidence in Cristante rather than sacrificing part of his contract and sending him away.

I'd be very curious to know just how the club will respond to the knowledge that we will have a new manager next year with regards to their transfer strategy. Whilst I can understand the desire not to miss out on a player due to hesitancy, it is important that our transfer strategy addresses the vision of a new manager rather than restricting his options upon arrival.

It is possible that the management is already preparing for the upcoming manager (seedorf?) by obtaining these players during the winter market to avoid competition, since the prices of many of these players could rise after the world cup.
