Not to mention that Zidane wasn't a AM as it is defined today. Zidane played in a position that is closer to what Xavi does today...

I remember him playing just off the striker, roaming all over the final third, in his prime. At the WC 2006 he played more like Xavi, because he was slow.

You do know tactics evolve right? Hardly any team was playing with a lone striker 10/20 years ago.

fab, hazard, cazorla and kroos better than ozil?!? i can understand some rating silva, mata and goetze over ozil but those 4 are simply not in the same class. ozil when used properly (i.e. as a AM) just bosses the game and creates chances left, right and centre. just watch him when he plays for Germany.
