El Paso, Tex., high school student Rhiannon Conelley, who recently won a contest for the chance to fly to Barcelona to meet pro baller and part-time slow-jam juggle artist Neymar. The young goalkeeper says she hopes to pick Neymar’s brain, learn ways to improve her own play, and possibly get the chance to stop a few of his shots herself.

All of that is well and good until you learn one small detail of the contest. Upon winning, Conelley had a choice of grand prizes: meeting Neymar, or taking $10,000.

“I entered the contest to meet Neymar. I didn’t enter to win $10,000.”

Yea, got a feeling he is going to seriously over shadow Messi due to the fact people place so much value on National Team performance and Messi historically blows it while Nerman delivers every single time he puts on that yellow jersey. As beast a Messi is, Nerman is just as good if not better in big games at delivering.

Over all, Messi is still better of course. But our future is going to be great with Nerman on our team.

I don't think that's what winter meant as he clearly pointed out that messi was better. But what he was trying to say was that neymar has something's people value that messi doesn't have (namely NT record, the south american affection cause he started his game from there, kind of like the way it is with tevez, maradona, neymar also dominated everyone in SA even as a teenager like maradona and even was the best player in 2 back to back years till he left for europe like maradona also, has won the libertadores and CL too while also being the only playet to win the tournament top scorer in each of them, also, neymar goated for another team aside Barcelona, in fact neymar is Santos best player and top scorer of all time after pele era) and people value those kind of things a lot, especially in south america. Winter is also trying to say that Barca has a very great future ahead after messi, even considering the ridiculously high standard he's set for everyone.
Not necessarily that neymar will outscore messi in barcas history. And considering what neymar can do who is to argue against him? Moreso, neymar for the national team is just extraterrestrial stuff.. :bow:

And yeah, messi > everyone and that's not about to change anytime soon with or without NT. Laughing

eh forget about national teams neymar's success in brazil will do nothing for us in barca, i just think the word overshadow is a bit crazy, messi will most likely retire a hero for us..

Neymar is delivering for his standards. But for messi standard its not so impressive. I mean messi almost always scoring or assisting for argentina but nobody cares because he must score after dribbling 3-4 players to be considered great.

Only thing would make neymar better national team player if he delivered against big national teams. Against scrubs they both are at the same level i dont see any difference in their performance. Only difference is messi has much more pressure.he must do what maradona did and he must win like he does in barcelona

yeah, Neymar does really great everytime he puts on NT shirt. And i believe he has more chances to win trophies with NT team. So at the end of career he probably will remain far above Messi in terms of NT awards. I personally feel Messi always gives his best but somehow he never recieves the due praise.
As for Barca, Messi has already cemented his place in Barca's history and i doubt Neymar will be around for long. I am sure the guy will look for new challenges sooner or later.

This comparison is ridiculous because 90th minutes of both matches (arg-par and bra-peru) made neymar hero and messi flop. If both matches finished in 89th minute messi would be called hero and neymar flop. These comparisons is just bs
