Xavi ridicules Barcelona end-of-era talk

"I laugh whenever I hear it. Years ago I was hearing this and it seems that it will never happen, unfortunately for some," Xavi told Sport.es.

"It will take a lot [to end the era]. What is clear is that all those who talk of the end of the cycle are people who don't want Barcelona [to succeed]. Pay no attention to them."

"I don't agree [that Bayern are a lot stronger than Barcelona]," he continued.

"Bayern changed against us, were less attacking than usual and pressed us well, they defended seamlessly.

"They were stronger and faster than us. But when we had the ball they could not dominate us. It is evident that they were much better [on the day], but there a lots of reasons why neither us nor Madrid reached the final."

Xavi is a staunch believer within the Barça philosophy which should entitle him to dictate the approach of whether it is within it's final struts or not. It may be his blind belief within a philosophy that has been addressed onto in order to overcome it, yet his complaint stems mostly from the misuse in recents years.

The stripped down and shadowed version of Pep's Barça to which has lost that key pressing element, that gaze of creativity and ingenuity along with attacking principle which defined the system. Barça's cycle can be replenished if addressed with the key elements to have the cycle continued within it's structural integrity. La Masia is the spine yet with foreign additions, a constant cycle to eliminate defensive weaknesses and only further reinforce their strengths if they can take away Messi Dependence.

It'll be interesting to see which direction they can go. Rossell may be to blame for vaporizing the soul of their conscious philosophy which is why there needs to be Laporta's return on the cards.

Again you continue to live up to the standards you set yourself. I feel that it is more a question of tactical execution rather than decviating from thier philsophical roots. In a way, Barcelona won because they did not have to change the way they played.
