Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Liverpool?
Now personally I have only seen him in CL matches for Shakhtar (all the opposition being quality Juve, Chelsea, Dortmund) and some NT matches (vs Denmark and vs Italy) excluding the obvious youtube videos. And from those handful of times I have gathered that he is, in fact, a very quality and versatile player. However, I don't trust my judgement just yet as those matches were too few and far in between.
It seems inevitable that he'll become a Pool player. Now one thing that worries me is the price. The 20+m that's being rumored can buy a team a WC player if they look right (Suarez and Torres both cost us around that much when we got them).
I really would like to know what the neutral prospective towards this player is. How good is he? Is he really worth that much??

Հենրիկ Համլետի Մխիթարյան's stats this year in the Ukrainian League are ridiculous. 25 goals + 10 assists in 29 matches?

Him, Fernandinho and Willian raped us in both legs. Good signing from the little I've seen.

Which doesn't mean anything if he wants European football next season.

Except that it's nowhere.
He already HAS CL football. In a VERY GOOD TEAM.
He wouldn't come OR NOT come to us because of European football. It's irrelevant.
but then again, It's you, so I'm not surprised

Re: Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Liverpool?
I think Red is saying that the clause only implies to teams in Europe.....
I could be wrong though.

Re: Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Liverpool?
I'm assuming RedOranje wants to say that despite triggering the release clause, Henrikh still has to agree to a move. And he may want to play european football, so there's a chance that some other club with european football next season could sign him. (unless the player has gone public about his desire to join Liverpool, which I may have missed)
As for Mkhitaryan, I'm a fan. I've not watched him this season (only against Dortmund) but I've watched him against Barcelona and Arsenal in recent seasons - the guy is not only a creative player but he can also score and has a goal instict (gets in good goalscoring positions).
Very good signing for whoever gets him.

Guardian and BBC reporting the same thing. Liverpool want him.
Then this happened.
Then this happened.

Not THAT hard to figure out what I was saying, lads. If the player is as highly rated and in-demand as has been suggested then there is still the very real possibility another club with CL footy could match our bid and offer similar/better wages, PLUS European footy. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if a City (if they miss out on Isco and are selling Nasri) similar decide to throw some money his way.

Because jumping to conclusions helps us SOOO much, doesn't it? How's Forren doing for us? Downing's certainly been the superior player to Mata in the past two seasons, right? Agger's doing well at City since the owners forced his sale last summer, yea? And it goes on and on and on.

Re: Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Liverpool?
Is he worth more than £15 million!!! I have this question to those who have watched him often (not regularly) in last TWO years. How was he against better teams! How many goals have he scored against better teams!

Re: Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Liverpool?
Carroll will be sold. Mkhitaryan will be signed soon after. He's apparently cancelled his holiday to have his medical which pretty much means he will sign for us soon. I like this new approach to get in players early before the inflated fees come up. Being reactive in the market hasn't helped. Proactive is definitely the way to go.
Ohhh shit. In before the " Get back on topic. Stop derailing the thread."

The Carroll fee + Carroll wages are pretty much funding this deal.
