Good bye PEPEE <3

Gives a very clear indication that BR was prepared for offers from other clubs for Reina. I guess the Barca rumors were true . .

There it is!! Best of luck Pepe!!

If Suarez goes to Arsenal, good luck with British Media :-)

Why didn't Roma bid for Reina! They signed a new keeper, is Reina worse than him!!

Tbh Ayre is hanging out in Bangkok and doing shots off of Thai strippers. I don't think he's in any mood to discuss Suarez until we get back from our tour. So I agree with Nish Thumbs up

Nice job Nish. So every move we've done this summer has had comfirmation. Only a 3/4 more of deadwood left to take out (Spearing, Pacheco, Assaidi) and focus on bringing in some first teamers.

I think we can expect more business once the team arrives from the tour.

Not the proper thread but Suso and Adorjan have gone to good clubs, for them. While they will play in top (first) division where they will taste of things to come, the clubs are not big so not only they will get lots of playing time, they will not be under (heavy) pressure to perform.

This could be their chance.

Both the Times and BBC are talking about Cissokho. Has to be some interest in him.

De Jong last week pledged his own future to the Eredivisie champions, but with both Eriksen, and Alderweireld only possessing one year contracts, he knows their situation is different.

He told De Telegraaf, “That’s the big difference between the situation of Christian and Toby and my situation, they have only one year contract.”

Of course I asked if they, like me want to stay. Then we, together with Bojan Krkic of Barcelona, have a wonderful team” , says the midfielder cum striker. ”What did they say? They want to wait. I understand. They are more concerned with a transfer than me. ”

Alderweireld has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Roma, and Norwich, but the latter seem to be out of the race after the player himself rejected the club.

Eriksen has also come under the radar of Liverpool, Leverkusen, and AC Milan, with the play-maker currently holding a hefty €15 million price tag.

Both players have indicated that if no club that they wish to leave for, makes an official bid, then they are happy to stay in Amsterdam and fight for the league title for the fourth time in a row.

Post by RedOranje Sat Jul 27, 2013 8:21 pm

We won't be signing Alderweireld, as Rodgers has come out and said he does not feel the squad needs another CB. As things stand we appear to be after a LB to provide cover/competition for Enrique and an attacking midfielder.

I can't help but feel the decision not to pursue another CB is a poor decision. As things stand we now have 1 starter, 1 aging player with experience but also previous fitness issues, and two more first team CBs who clearly do not have the manager's full faith. Beyond that we have a pair of young defenders who have only really seen gametime with the first team as fullbacks, even if their history is at CB. That's not the type of collection that I think is ready for a top 4 challenge, personally.

Real Madrid just put a 83m bid for Bale. [Telegraph reporting it.]

If they even try and attempt to get Luis Suarez for anything under 60m, and we accept, we do not learn from our mistakes. We need to have negotiation power - none of this "okay 50m and he's yours".

Falcao went for 55 ish. Cavani went for the same. Bale had a 83m bid REJECTED (Spurs are STUPID; no player is worth that much) so we better not let him go for a lower fee than them when he's not only better, but time is ticking down in the transfer window. Sick of listening to this "we need to sell" thing as well; we do not.  We should be in complete control, we shouldn't let a club that has turned into a joke bully us into selling him.

@ above to Red:

I don't think Rodgers has little faith in Skrtel or he would of got rid imo. Carragher would of played more games in the second half of the year because he said he wanted to retire.  Luckily for himself, he performed solid enough to stay in the starting XI.

83m bid for an opening offer. I think Perez wanted to sign him on the first go. Levy and AVB,

Anyway. They're set to sign Soldado for 30m euros. Would of added it in the "rivals" thread but Soldado was apparently a target for us. Don't think he was, tbh.

Via Mirror:

Cavani on Suarez situation

"We've been speaking a lot & while I can’t tell you everything, I can tell you that Suarez is desperate to start playing CL footy."

“Liverpool already know that, though, because he has told them."

“I think if he thought Liverpool would qualify for Champions League football next season he would stay."

"With other top teams in England adding players, he doesn’t think Liverpool have the resources to break into the CL spots."

"One of the most complete strikers in the world needs to be playing at the top level and I hope Liverpool understand that."

“He doesn’t want to leave on bad terms because he respects the club & fans, but he needs to achieve his dreams in the game.”
