We don't know! What we do know is that he doesn't perform for his NT. End of. his is old news, Messi isn't the first and won't be the last player that is amazing at club level and is piss poor for his NT in comparison. People need to stop trying to be philosopher and just deal with it.

henry, even though he is their top goal scorer he was always criticize for not playing well for the NT from what I recall, maradona at messis age was also heavly criticize for not performing for the NT. Cristiano ronaldo isn't either performing for his NT etc...

This argument is retarded, so Pele's team never made the UCL finals. Whatevs. Messi is one of the best the world has ever seen, but those fans who argue that Messi hasnt won a WC, well Pele has never won a UCL final, so go F yourself yo!!!! Your points are NOT valid!

Its a typical case of "haters will hate", because he clearly is the best alive, but because he can't replicate his Barca form on a NT which obviously doesn't involve the same players, it's more than enough for people to talk sh*t.
