what is the meaning of "can't perform for certain team"?

is that means do nothing in that match, just walking or enjoy the panoramic view in the stadium?

or don't score a single goal?

or don't have a goal assist?

Not performing at your usual level, or peak level. There are many factors to be considered, though. You can't just stick a player into a certain system and hope he'll perform just like that.
