Both Isco and Ozil should be starting ahead of Benzema. Khedira isn't good enough and Modric should be starting.

This is the problem with some of you, you're wanting/expecting all of these new attacking players to start but give absolutely no thought whatsoever in finding balance

If you think a team consisting of Mesut, Isco, Modric, Ronaldo and Bale is somehow going to be defensively sound, then you're not thinking clearly. Not to mention dropping Khedira, who is the only hope of some sort of defensive minded midfielder getting a game.

Bale's movement off the ball isn't good enough for a CF. He's not a natural CF at all.

A striker who's never played as an out and out striker in his life,

An unfit CAM playing out wide and another CAM playing CM

This doesn't strike you as horrendously unbalanced?

as for creating a balanced team its going to be impossible with ozil, Ronaldo and benz/bale not tracking back

if I had to create a balanced team with bale in it I would choose this:

iker/lopez
Carvajal-Pepe-Ramos-Marcelo
DiMaria-Illarramendi-Modric/Isco
Ozil/Bale
Bale/Benz-Ronaldo

Well Ancelotti's been playing Ozil as a RAM so far. Isco does fine at CM with his link up play. He's more of a CM type AM rather than an SS one.

In terms of Bale, well he's not a winger anyway. He's an SS with a free role and that can't happen at Real Madrid.

Bale and Ronaldo can rotate positions throughout the match. While one is at CF, the other roams around.

Essentially most of the players are going to be playing out of position. The only way to find balance is changing the formation (The 4-2-3-1 I listed had a fair few players playing in their ideal places) But Carlo seems determined to go with this 4-3-2-1.

Or to drop a couple big names and have them competing for a place. But whoever loses out will probably not be content with a bench roll for a long time and will leave.

There's just been way too many big signings that were bound to cause problems. Signings for the sake of it.

Tom, it's 4321 and 4222. players are going to be moved around but it doesnt matter because carlo is trying to develop a team concept as opposed to players being expected to make the difference on their own. It's not like we are asking those guys to play defense when they are midfielders.

I think we ought to see the end result first. it's the fiirst time in 3 years we are going that way so it's positive. Carlo has wanted CR to play CF and is giving him the freedom to move around. He plays CF half of the time anyway given how much he hangs in central position.

Isco can play interior just like Iniesta does, he has the will to defend and he understands how to use space more than 90% of players. Ozil is the one suffering most because we are slowing down the game, and his role is changing a lot.

I dont think most of those changes are foreign and it's not like we have achieved anything playing the way we did under mourinho. Fans just have rigid expectations of what position in football are when they dont actually matter that much

Surag it's a well-known fact that you can't call yourself a good Journalist unless your Real Madrid info is spot on. Because at the end of the day, journalists are not judged on how accurate they tend to be on the whole, but rather how many Madrid rumours they get right.

I actually think that Carlo/Zizou want Bale to be able to cut in and shoot with that cannon of a left foot he has. He's very similar to Di Maria in that sense.

So you would have CR7 and Bale cutting in and the fullbacks, Carvajal and Marcelo, who are both very good at overlapping to allow for width.

Personally, i think you're going to have a lot of guys who are going to play 2 out of 3 games so you keep everyone sharp. It works well once we get into the 2 games per week routine. 1 out of 2 is not good enough. But 2 out of 3 should be ok for everyone involved.

tbh, an out and out CF in madrid would struggle because of the movements of CR. he likes to roam into central positions a lot, which force the CF out wide half the time.
