Jokes aside one must take this chance to address the tactical side of Benzema and the nature of his game.

Since the dawn of his professional tenure in football all football fans know that Karim starts slowly, taking his time in competitions especially following a competition taking place from the summer.

Once he is deployed in a more natural SS role that will be more familiar to his evolved play, only then he can use the freedom he needs to navigate on (and off) the ball without being pressured into just a direct vector just to score.

The current bench time while detrimental to him this season, will not be on the long run as his impact right off the bench was testament to how strikers such as Chicharito or Bale will never match his ability to change the game in such subtlety.

Come mid-season Benzema will have many forget about his sluggish start to the season.

Called it on chat how Benzema will make a difference.

I think he is not physically sharp enough atm. Heard he looked great when he came on. Carlo should stick with Hernandez or Bale-James-Ronaldo upfront and rest Benzema for a bit and keep up the super sub routine. Specially in small games.

Real Madrid defender Marcelo denied it was substitute Karim Benzema’s goal that had changed the game in the 2-1 defeat of Ludogorets.

Instead, the Brazilian preferred to put it down to a team effort in Los Blancos’ laboured victory over the Bulgarian minnows.

“It wasn’t Karim who changed the game, as we were all focused on it. Karim was in the right place at the right time and managed to score,” he told reporters afterwards.

“Beforehand we spoke about things and knew we had to put balls in front of their defence, which was where we could cause them problems, and that’s how it turned out.

“Of course, we must improve on some things but we are getting better all the time, which is our aim,” added Marcelo.
