On a more serious note. I do have high hopes for Bamford, he seems to be able to cope with every loan, more so than a lot of other youth players. A good stint a Boro and I'd like to see him go somewhere in the EPL.

I would love for him to replace Drogs as our third CF, too.

Yes, all so often youth players do well in the reserves then go on loan and bomb. To see Paddy doing so good, and doing so good consistently and everywhere he's thus far been, is hugely encouraging.

Even if he never makes it beyond third choice, I'd be massively happy for him.

Also working massively in his favour is the crisis of English/HG players we'll be in in the next year or two.


I can really, honestly see him getting a shot in the first team is he plays his cards right this season and/or possibly next.

Honestly, I'd be over the moon if he, Ake, Baker and Blackman found permanent homes in the first team.

Perhaps one of Kalas or Omeruo too.

Well, Ake does have the No.6. Blackman will surely replace Schwarzer, eventually.

Baker is our best youth player in a long times and Bamford has already been discussed.

Also, it's why I said over the moon, because it is a stretch. Not impossible though.

But how many top flight clubs on the planet have that many youth products playing in their first team?

Arsenal have Wheelchair, Ramsey, Bellerin, Hayden, Cheesy? Gibbs, + other fringe players

Barca have (under 25, therefore not a one-off) Samper, Munir (both getting gametime) Bartra, Montoya, Sergi Roberto, Masip, + others.

Utd have Jumanji, Blackett, Evans, Fletcher, Rafael.

Bayern: Lahm, Schwieni, Badstuber, Muller, + youngsters.

Dortmund: Durm, Hummels, Sahin, Gundogan, + youth players.

Juve have: Marchisio, Chiellini, Giovinco.

Gibbs joined Arsenal when he was 15
He's about as much an Arsenal youth product as Bertrand or Piazon are Chelsea youth products...

Same goes for Chesney who joined them when he was 16

Hayden had made a whopping 2 appearances for the senior side (both in the COC) in 2 years so counting him as an established first team squad-member means the same would be true of Ake, which is absurd. Same goes for Bellerin.
