AKPOM WHAT A GOALLLLL. Great strike from his weaker foot.
Niles pass was great before that. Probably our best player tonight

Looks like the youth team really does idolise our senior team.
Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal. After some horrible defending.

Well it's only the first leg. Not sure if the away goals count in the youth cup?
2-1 won't be the worst of results to take back to the Emirates.

I don't understand why when you have zelalem, Crowley, iwobi, and defenders that can bring the ball forward, you tell the team to hoof the ball at akpom for the entire game. Totally spoiled the game, we did nothing but hoof the ball aimlessly. What a mismanagement of a talented set of players.
The organisation Chelsea youth played with made us look like dinosaurs from the 70s....

Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
Yea was wondering the same. Our players looked as disorganised as the senior players at times. Akpom like Giroud was too isolated while our midfielders didn't know how to play despite being so talented. Niles did great when he took responsibility and played like he usually does but the others weren't in the game at all.
I remember reading somewhere that our U18 manager is pretty crap and we won 0 in 8 at the start of the season?

our youth team has no system, no way of play. Chelsea have investigated in the best coaches around the world, we should do the same, our youth system is aimless.

The laughable thing is, both Lamaran and Gatting have had (or will have) their contracts extended if I remember correctly. And to think that I believed things will change with the appointment of Jonker in our academy.

He's on the bench tonight. Arsenal got dominated in midfield in the first leg and Jebb offers a bit more physically.
It's been an even start so far. Kiwomya looks threatening for Chelsea.

Terrible defending there. Failure to clear the ball, Jebb somehow outmuscled and sloppy goalkeeping by Vickers.

Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
Arsenal 0 - 1 Chelsea.
Arsenal have been poor, really. Chelsea have had control of the ball and are making all the chances, while Arsenal are floundering at the back and can't get anyone up to support Akpom.
