Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
Arsenal 0 - 1 Chelsea.
Arsenal have been poor, really. Chelsea have had control of the ball and are making all the chances, while Arsenal are floundering at the back and can't get anyone up to support Akpom.

Chelsea were better physically, technically and tactically. We just weren't good enough.

It’s now impossible for Arsenal to get 11th place in the U21 PL table, meaning Arsenal will start in the 2nd league next season…

Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
Yup. Means we'll play Bolton, Villa, Spurs, West Brom, Middlesbrough, Wolves, Stoke, Reading, Newcastle and Blackburn next season, as things stands. Still a few teams that can change position.
This to go with the 9th placed U18 side, in a league of 11, with just 20 points, a whopping 12 points behind the team in 8th.
Jonker save us.

Good Good. I really don't like our current youth coaches.

There was a time when our youth set-up was our pride.
Even here, the Chelseas and the Citys have now leapfrogged us.
Disgusting.

Not surprising when you look at the amount money they pour into their academies, Our academy has come a long way since Wenger joined the club but there was a period when we were a bit stagnant. The club focused more on scouting young players but focused less on the coaching they received, it was obvious that when Bouldy and Banfield got promoted that the coaching wasn't as good.

Your lads couldn't do LFC's even a little favour and hold Chelsea's team so we could finish top?

Wouldn't be the worst for him, given the level of competition in the German squad. Right?

He'd be renouncing his German citizenship and therefore his EU passport as Germany does not currently allow dual citizenship.
He'd then need to go back and get a work permit not to mention the stress of intercontinental travel being a guarantee for international matches.

Not that it matters what I prefer but I would like him to play for USA. He could be a legend for them with his talents.

Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
it would be slightly bad for us with the travelling but it would be cool to see a world class player play for the USA, instead of "just another" talented german midfielder. Hes still a long way from that though, right now hes more hype than quality

Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
I believe JK will bring him over. He's German too, which could totally help in recruiting
I think because of how young he is and his potential it'll be good to go to usa.. It's a great situation for him, and he's going to get more chances to prove himself then he would with Germany... If he doesn't become world class or even falls slightly below expectations he could be out of Germany before he even knows it. But he'll be given all the time and chances he needs for us

It would be great to see him get a chance to have a team centered around him or at least for him to clearly be the big fish in the pond (that is if he lives up to his hype)

If it were me, I would rather back my abilities and work hard to fulfil it in a more competitive environment. Ah well, to each his own.

Tafari Moore is starting at left back for England U17s in the European Championship final against the Netherlands. Kicks off 18:00 for anyone interested.
Also, Patrick Roberts, a player we've been linked with, should be playing.

England won on penalties. Moore had a great game overall and was especially strong in the second half. Follows Afobe in winning the tournament.

Sounds a bit selfish but I hope we sign Patrick Roberts from Fulham. Looks ridiculously talented.

Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
He's certainly an exciting player, but his first team chances with us would be limited considering that we've already got Gnabry and Chamberlain for the right flank, which is where they're most likely to play even if it's not necessarily their best position. I'd rather see him to stay at Fulham and get regular first team football in the Championship; only other solution would be to buy him and loan him back.
