He might as well play from the deep, but don't put any defensive responsibilities on him. He can only perform when he has a free role from the deep. He is an AM in that sense like he plays for Germany. Old fashioned though not modern.

But He wouldn't need to defend much anyways 90% of the time. And in big games Carlo will most likely play Khedira etc so it will work out.

i know that he classic 10, but he is not gonna play that here why even bother, james and isco should get the nod ahead of him, cm or dlp that his role in the team with a defenders besides him

Much better display today than against Inter. We are getting there physically. Bale looks absolutely ready. Niw give us the rest of our players so that we can prepare properly

Thought he did well for his first game there.

Very involved in build up today. Did not make any runs but I've seen Isco make them. It's hardly the thing I was having my doubts over Isco in that position.

Give him some more games before you judge. I think he will be better than Benz for us tbh.

se7en you obviously only care about isco replacing benzema, he didn't do anything at all, again this is not fifa and false 9 isn't something anyone can do, but keep telling yourself otherwise

Diego Lopez won't play tomorrow; he's working hard but Casillas will play because he'll start the Supercup. I won't talk about Navas because he's not a Real Madrid player.

Cristiano Ronaldo will not play tomorrow. He hasn't trained with the team and we won't run any risks. He'll train with the team in Madrid to be ready for the Supercup. I'm counting on him for the final.

Carlo more or less confirms Lopez is leaving

Also anyone else noticed that it was Alonso playing CM against Roma and not Illarra. I like that alot and would prefer it to Illarra at CM

James did not travel to America. He is currently in Madrid training at the Valdebebas, so no he won't feature

mt, Alonso plays CM for Spain and Illarra is a superior CDM so I prefer Illarra starting at CDM and Alonso playing CM from time to time

Benz was back on the 1st of August but did not join the team in US instead he, Varane and James have been training at the Valdebebas to get their fittness up to speed before the rest come back after the United game

Fortunately it's only pre-season, we're going to have to step it up soon. If Alonso and Illarra struggle defensively, then not sure how Modric and Kroos will work. Everything only ever works when we have Di Maria and it's a 3 man midfield.
