Agreed with Moal, Zabaleta has been horrible this season as well. Both Kompany and Zabaleta were the worst players on the pitch along with Yaya in the second half yesterday getting skinned left and right.

I can't still realize why he wasn't inserted in Premier League top 11 2014 when he wasn't even best City BC in 2nd half of season
Besides he has the fault to be bad expecially in big games .
I remind he didn't convince me fully not even during Anderlecht period ( he was very hyped ) and tbh he didn't improve in some his defects.
I wouldn't define Zabaleta overrated though , he was consistent for years ( contrarily he was underrated, because I can ensure he is enough underrated outside UK .  ) and he reached just few months ago a WC final with performances very good.
This year he wasn't same level than other years probably, but  when you must mark Messi..
Anyway still better than Clichy even to 50% of his form , for me the French is the most overrated City player . But that's another story...

I don't think Mangala has been poor, maybe I've watched the wrong games, then, but he's done all right to me and will probably improve as he gets a bit more used to the league.

Kompany's form hasn't been good enough, though.

But City are also struggling to put together a balanced central midfield. Yaya has never been known for his defensive work-rate and I think it's even lower now. Straight after the final whistle against Liverpool, a loss that was a massive blow to their title chances, Yaya was immediately all hugs and smiles, cheerily shaking hands with our players, didn't look like he cared one bit that they had lost an important game. The guy had a monster season last season and City won the title. He's 31 now and looks like he's not that hungry for success any longer. Having a guy like that playing in front of the CBs doesn't make the defenders' job any easier.

Can't come back quickly enough.

Obviously our best defender by some distance. The second best is currently on loan at Galatasaray but that's another bone headed decision.

What I didn't realise is that Kompany is for all intense and purposes also our manager and the only person who can provide anything close to leadership and motivation for the rest of the clowns.
