I know Liverpool didn't signed anyone in January this season. I mean january's signing last season eg. Coutinho, Sturridgemr-r34 wrote:missjb wrote:Roma for me. Liverpool I know they will have a chance to challenge Top 4. Non European competition involvement help them alot, They made a crucial signing in January's transfer, and There is already a sign of Liverpool's consistency in the 2nd half of last season.
But I didn't expected Roma would be so quickly to bounce back with Rudi Garcia. They sold their players and it's Rudi's first season..
We haven't signed a crucial first team player since January 2013, and we didn't even sign 1 player last January window.

Clearly Liverpool. Most people probably expected them to challenge for the 4th spot, however they're exceeding all expectations and challenging for the title. I didn't really rate anyone apart from Suarez, however the others have stepped up and shown their quality.
In terms of Roma, Juventus are in a tier of their own in Serie A. Then you have a 2nd tier with the likes of Roma, Inter, Fiorentina etc, so it's not too much of a surprise that they could actually finish second.
Not fully sure who's suited to the CL, however the 12th man on a European night for Liverpool is a big factor.

Why am I not surprised?Gil wrote:Roma. They're doing it in a tougher League.
If Tottenham or someone were leading the PL table, he would've said the exact opposite.

Im more impressed with Liverpool because they are considered semi big club and to finish top 4 for a mid table club, its quite an achievement.
But, they tried hard for years by spending more money than anyone else bar Oil teams.
Next year with additional 20 games wont be as easy.

Based on this > http://www.goallegacy.net/t32679-predict-the-top-4-of-europes-top-5-leagues
Roma
number of people that counted liverpool in top 4 was a lot more than Roma. Wasn't accurate as they said mainly 3rd or 4th but still fewer people predicted Roma anywhere in top 4

While both have been extremely impressive, I would have to say Roma were the more surprising. Bias aside, Roma came into the season having just lost the most important game of the year to their most hated rivals Lazio, and with a newly appointed manager in Rudi G.
