Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
It's like that is all they care about i.e Messi. They are also taking domestic success for granted in a real serious way. It may not be next year, may not be the season after that but eventually, Madrid and Atletico would get their act together, would get their transfers right and all of a sudden, Valverde winning 2 La Liga titles in a row would look grand. Lucho winning 2 La Liga titles in a row would like grand. Nothing lasts...
@BC
Yeah I know, I am just saying you guys would have to pay him a King's Ransom to have even consider working for the club. I also don't smoke you pos.

Barca will be just fine. Remember that time when Pep told Barca to hold his beer? Well, he never returned to pick it up and they still managed to win another treble.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino's apparent joke about where his team would stay in Madrid for the Champions League final appears to have backfired - and prompted Real Madrid to release an official statement.
The Argentine, who has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu in the past, was discussing Spurs' plans for the final against Liverpool at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on 1 June.
"Ahead of the final, we will train at Valdebebas [Real's training complex] and sleep in a nearby hotel," he told El Partidazo de Cope.
"I asked Florentino [Perez, Real's president] to let us sleep in the sports centre, but he told me that I can only sleep there when I become the coach of Real Madrid."
Cue a "Comunicado Oficial" from the 13-time European champions, who re-appointed manager Zinedine Zidane in March.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
I don't think there is any chance of Poch being sacked.
Is Poch sacked after 4-2 with a couple incredibly hit Bayern strikes? You would say such is life. I have said my opinion before on the RB issue which is on Poch, however. Regardless, the players take that L in the last 10 minutes. That isn't on Poch.
I don't think anyone at Spurs is seriously thinking he needs the sack. They've had about as bad of a start as you can get in the EPL and they're in the thick of it with Arsenal and Chelsea for top 4. In the CL it's been two matchdays.
I've been very critical but there is a difference between that and firing the manager who made Spurs relevant in the first place. Spurs would have killed to touch CL before Poch. Now they're in it every season. Jeez, the people before Poch (AVB, Sherwood) were facing scorelines like this regularly by top teams. Sacking Poch would be one of the most shortsighted decisions Spurs could make right now.

I think the lack of proper refreshing of the squad is getting to them.
They seem stale, perhaps a new manager would be a good move?

Straight swap with Zidane. They would be getting a three-time CL winner and the future winner of this year's EL. You can't really put a price on that.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
feel bad for Poch. But that club and its management has always been questionable for years. I hope he finds the right club.
But can not hide the fact that I am enjoying this state of Spurs In case Poch leaves, the club in general needs to be careful knowing so many players who seem to be spine of the club may depart soon. They might slowly start drifting to be oblivious without these players and Poch.

Wouldn't say overrated but I'd say he does get a lot of hype which isn't warranted.

He seems to have lost the ability to motivate this Tottenham team - and I'm not sure he's motivated to be at the club any longer, either.

Poch always has been and always will be a poor man's mourinho. Player will suffer the dire football if they are winning but when results start to go bad the players think what the fuck are we doing here.

I think he got ahead of himself thinking some big club in Spain or ManUtd would come for him.

ah the kind of "fraud" that takes a 6th placed team to consistently top 4 and CL semis. regardless of whether right now is a phase or the inevitable downturn for this cycle of players I don't think coming in with this comment 5 years later is quite "fraud" status

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
It's funny how the end of the cycle for a group is always obvious from the outside looking in. From the inside the picture if never so clear and managers tend to always want to believe in their guys. That being said, i did bot expect Spurs to dip so much after positive summer.
Some players like Dele Ali have stoped improving, and even regressed; for all the hype Son had last summer, where is he? Eriksen definitely regressed, the young CBs they signed few years back are not taking a step forward. Wink is now a starter but he is painfully average... i wouldnt want to coach that squad.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal are total wank these days, possibly all at their worst in 2 decades. Obviously some team was bound to take advantage and it happened to be Spurs. Who are a bit less wank. But just about. Never a real challenger for any trophy. See nothing special here from Pochettino. Having the best striker in the league alone makes any team a top 5 team by default in the league. Where else do you think this Spurs team should be? 8th? Below United under Ole? Get outta here.
Wenger was made fun of for the same stuff that Pochettino is getting hailed for. Making top 4 without spending much but also without winning or challening for anything.
Average La Liga coach.

And I keep saying Lloris is such a big weakness for Spurs, just saw the mistake and the injury, wtf, it was out of nothing and self made. Completely puzzles me how he can be a starter GK for club and country for so many years.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
You can't compare Wenger to Pochettino here, Arsenal were a dominant club in england which could win the title every season. Spurs i recent years have not been close to that level. Wenger was criticized for the way Arsenal went from title contender to top 4 hopeful; Pochettino is making the opposite journey.
Still not a big fan of his though...

Dele Ali was injured for quite a bit. Eriksen doesn't want to be there. The cbs want to go, Danny Rose wants to go etc Difficult environment atm.
