Chelsea 2014/15 Preseason Thread

Chelsea Football Club have at last announced our plans for the upcoming preseason, and this year a tour of Europe closer to home will be our preparation for the next campaign

The tour kicks off with a game against Austrian side RZ Pellets WAC on Wednesday, July 23^rd at the Wörthersee Stadion in the Carinthia capital of Klagenfurt

We'll then travel to Slovenia to face off against NK Olimpija Ljubljana on Saturday, July 27^th at the Stožice Stadium in the nation's capital of Ljubljana

Up next will come a game with club partners Vitesse Arnhem at the GelreDome in Holland
on Wednesday, July 30^th

Before finally a trip to Germany to finish off the tour against Werder Bremen at the Wesser
Stadium on Sunday, August 3^rd

Scheduled also are a pair of fixtures earlier in the month to be played by a Chelsea XI, comprised of a mix of first team and academy players say the club, against Wycombe Wanderers on Wednesday,
July 16^th, and AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, July 19^th

All 6 matches will also be aired LIVE on Chelsea TV

José Mourinho’s men have been contacted by Shire chairman Tony Ford who has asked them to honour a 52-year-old agreement which was never fulfilled.

The deal relates to the transfer of Eddie McCreadie, a left-back who joined Chelsea aged 22 in 1962.

Ford recently discovered documents relating to the deal which stated that home and away friendlies would be played between the clubs.

The Blues visited Scotland in 1963 but the return game in London never took place and had been long forgotten until now.

Bamford

I see you've come around since a few days ago

A few days ago, I did not want Bamford in the first team THIS SEASON.

I am not talking about this season, I am talking about the future, Bamford needs another loan, preferably to either a Championship team or to a relegation team in PL. Then bring him back after that, if he does well.

He's already better than 2/3's of our strikeforce ffs

Ideally, He'd be loaned out for a year or two, prehaps taking Torres' spot when his contract expires (is that in 15 or 16?)

By then he'd probably be ready. Costa will be in his prime, Lukaku (if around,) will be performing better than now and Bamford could slot in nicely.
