Both of the above news are music to the ears.
Real would have thought we would be willing to spend crazy money for ramos now that reports of the situation apparently mellowing owing to flo talking to him has surfaced.

Instead they are simply forgetting that we hold the ace in this scenario in the form of ddg.

We just need to wait and make them panic and in the meantime make sure we dont miss out on otamendi. If we can drag this until the last week or so, pretty confident either one of the fair things will happen. Either they will sign ddg for record money or they will allow us to get a swap deal. Keeping fingers crossed hence.

P.S effing man city and their actions should be closely monitored. Theres a chance they make take advantage of the situation and force a move for otamendi. Thank the copa america. Argentina making to the final will be good for us in this. Will buy us time. And then lately theres reports that they are also looking at ramos. (probably real's shenanigans to raise his price)

2 weeks to till our first pre season game and all I see is tumble weed. Bear in mind LVg wanted it all sorted out before we head off to the US.

And all I see and read from respectable journos is us going for hard targets, when we can just pay the required amount for available players like Otamendi and Schneiderlin, who both will immediately improve us. Instead we're flaffing about trying to get Muller, Schweinsteiger and Ramos.

It's getting tedious now, especially for a team like ours who still needs major rework to compete with City and Chelsea- never mind the elite CL teams.

Not gonna be too arsed with all these rumours, it's clear no one knows what's going on. I mean, SSN reported just yesterday that we had a bid rejected by Saints for Scheiderlin 10 days ago- then why didn't they report it 10 days ago. It's all guess work.

Will get excited once MUFC and BBC officially announce something.

PS, had to get that off my chest as I'm getting bored.

I am irritated and bored as well.
Only positive in these last week or so has been the news that Pogba is more likely to join Barca and not one of our rivals.  City need major strengthening too in more than one positions and they havent made 1 signing so far. So ..

Dont know what the hell is happening with regards to Schneiderlin. Are we seriously letting him pass and go for someone like Schewin. Even if we get the latter he wont be anywhere near Shneiderlin in terms of overall impact. FFS Shweinsteger is more injury prone than Carrick and he will be 31 when the season begins.

Ramos wont happen at all. 99% certain they wont let go off a player like him. So wont minding all these games from the media. Otamendi on the other hand. Will be seriously pissed if we miss out on him and he end up at the plastic neighbors.

Glad he's going though, his attitude the past 2 seasons have been dismal, almost as though he's moping that SAF retired on him or whatever other reason, he looked like he was going through the motions and not really arsed.

Maybe regular starts in a lesser league will re-ignite his passion and hunger for the game? I doubt it.


And yes, for certain we'll be in for a new striker, we'd be crazy not to. Seems the board are confident they'll get a capable striker as a replacement.

I think thats just a rumor. Need more credible sources.

He will ONLY leave if we sign someone. We wont let him go otherwise. Rooney, Wilson or even Depay for that matter as striker options arent good enough simply for us to compete on all fronts.
May be theres a plan to keep Chicha. In that case it would be okay to let rvp go and this might be true.

The problem with signing players like Lacazette or Benzema is that they will automatically assume the role of starters for us. We would have to start these superior forwards OVER ROONEY.

And because rooney is virtually undroppable for just being the captain of the ship LvG will put him in the next best role, the role we all despise so much, that of a number 10.
Dont want that to happen at any cost. Rooney playing anywhere but at the top would be utter shambles. It would disrupt our team and Herrera would then become the natural scapegoat.

So its kind of a tricky situation. Is there any young and promising striker out there who we can sign and deputize for rooney for the moment and then take over gradually ? Yes there is Wilson within our ranks, but he hasnt been convincing enough tbh. Need a loan out IMO.
Heard good things about that Martial kid from Monaco. We missed out on Vietto. He would have been perfect for that kind of a signing.

Henriquez not so long ago said they were going to exercise their 'buy' option, I mean Dinamo.

He may still stay if we ask him to stay.
But I think that case is more or less closed. Cant see him playing for us like Janko and others who we fans thought would one day play for us only to be later shipped off for peanut money to some scrub teams.

But then will be glad if I am wrong there in my assumption obviously. Will be far better if we give the likes of him chance rather than looking at someone else's youth prospects.
I mean how worse can he be. Its a gamble worth to take. Ffs we gave scrubs like welbeck 100 odd games to prove their worth.

The best solution is to just strip rooney off captaincy and give the armband to chris smalling. He has come leaps and bounds last season and his leadership improved. If we buy a new experienced cb that will help it further. Can buy a proven goal scorer in that case as well. All boxes ticked and boom, rooney on the bench.
