James Rodriguez (Monaco): "Messi is a crack, he does things at a higher level than the other players. He's a monster, simple as that."

James (Monaco): "You're always watching Messi. I try to copy him, like you do with all other greats, but Messi is a step above the rest."

Guess Madrid didn't match his wage demands. Proud

This is gonna sound stupid but won't having 3 players in your front 4 costing over 70m handcuff you over transfers for the next few years?
Reus is moving next year. Do you sign him and bench Bale?
Wouldn't signing James hamper Pogbas potential arrival?
Just a point

They will ship Ronaldo back to you for € 60M once he's finished next season.

It's a good point (and part of the reason I'm unsure about James), but Kroos shirts are selling out everywhere... Imagine a shirt that says "James10"?
FFP isn't about capping spending, it's about sustainability, and the reality is RM will always and forever be economically stable.
We aren't City/PSG/Monaco who spend 500m a season and only make 40m.
We rake in about 450m a season with an outlay of about 400m (just a rough idea, don't quote me)
50m leftover every year to pay of debt and... well, we're good.
Hopefully, by next season, Florentino Perez will realise that this isn't football manager and he'll try to do things properly with a defender here or there at far more respectable values of about 12m.

PLUS, this market is so super inflated that UEFA need to STFU.
They found both City and PSG guilty of breaching FFP policy and then, what do they do? Slap on the wrists... Probation + only 23 player squad in European competition?
That is a joke. That says "we're not serious about FFP"
Malaga got, what, a 3-year ban...
Why did City and PSG not get something like that?
I guarantee you nobody would be breaching FFP if they knew they'd be facing a 3-year-ban from Euro competition...

Tbf you shouldn't ban clubs straight off before they have a chance to clean house. It takes more than a few years to balance books as lopsided as those two.
I'd rather what the oil clubs do than Chelsea's model. Buy all the young talent and loan them out across Europe. It's disguisting

Madrid are all about the big signings. The quick hits. What's the point of Madrid if they don't sign a big player every summer?
Madrid have a young midfield and attack right now if you include James. That's terrible for your business model. You can't sell shit load of shirts unless you sign the current big stars

The epl tv deal will be renegotiated next year so were due another big jump.
Madrid have to keep up or they'll be left behind.
IMO Madrid fans will look back and think 2014 was the peak

no one gives a crap about this race for money you seem to enjoy. it's about winning trophies, like the CL, as we just did. our buying power is fine. you have lots of money and you cant even sign a decent centerback smh

TV deal doesn't even cover half our revenues... I'm sure we'll be fine. We have an 80 000 seater stadium

By the way, Cyberman, have we discussed United's inevitable revenue losses that will result from your European absence?
Not the best thing for a club with your levels of debt.
Plus, how much commercial revenue will you be losing now that all of your bandwagon fans have jumped ship (or will be soon)?

Ummm snap.
Madrid for the last 10 years were only boasting about these money leagues lol. Oh were this and that..
Point is wages aren't going to go down. You may have high revenues but you have high costs as well. Your net profit last year was like 39m or something.
I've never seen Madrid having to sell before buying before. Bye bye di Maria..

Have you seen our shirt deal? That's worth nearly as much as what the glazers bought the club for lol.
Add on the new tv deal this year and the Chevrolet 50m a year sponsorship.. Our revenue will be record high, if it's not more than madrids this year it will be very close.
We pay 20m a year on debt. I'd say that manageable.
Rumours of touring the Middle East playing lucerative friendlies v ac Milan that would make us more than actually playing in the champions league.
Thanks for asking buddy

Madrids revenues are maxed out. That's all I'm saying.
If they start getting capped in certain areas than lets see what happens.
