Depay didn't though, when he came on they switched to 4-3-3 I think.
But true, he could probably do a good job there, question is if it's not a waste of his capabilities.

So that the BS stops a bit...  Madrid were ok to take the loan deal but for too much money.  Also, Madrid weren't willing to loan the wages.  So for PSG to take on Di Maria, they had to dump both Lavezzi/Pastore OR just Cavani to clear the wages for Di Maria.  They were ok to do that if the transfer price remained 60 mil.  But Madrid asked for 80 mil.  Too much money on the transfer + didn't want to sell those players given the transfer price.

Regarding the 100 mil being overturned... that's for the upcoming FFP review, not the one the just passed.  The endorsement money would clear for next season.  That's why they asked for 1 year loan deals with auto-buyouts...  it wouldn't be a problem after this financial review.

If Madrid would have accepted 10 mil now and 50 mil in a year, the deal would have gotten done.  In the end, it was the 75 mil in a year + another 5 in bonuses that killed it.

Di Maria is not worth 80 million...  ever.  That's a ridiculous asking price.  They would also already be 90 million out for transfers for next season.  It just didn't make sense at this price and i totally get it.

That said...  PSG made the same comments after the first round of negotiations for Silva and Ibra.  We all know what happened a few weeks later.  Until the mercato is over, nothing is set in stone.  So who knows.

Even so Ashley Young has excelled there lol, I don't see why Di Maria couldn't.

You practically play as a winger anyway, Cuadrado has excelled in a similar system as a wing back.

There's a difference between a 352 and 532.

Di Maria doesn't want to a go to a non-CL team. So i don't see how Man U is a possibility unless Di Maria changes his mind. He already has a 8 mil net offer from Monaco + Monaco are willing to pay 55 mil all cash now to Madrid... That's the more likely scenario at this point imo.

Shaw is already at LWB and Di Maria sucks on the right imo.

Best position for him is LCM or LM.

In the end, there's an offer from PSG for 10 mil now and 50 mil in 12 months. For Man U to get him, Di Maria would have to agree AND Man U would need to fork up 55 mil+ today. Otherwise, Madrid would just turn around and accept PSG's offer... they'd be stupid not to.

refusing 60 mil for Di Maria is pretty bold... i'd take that and run without any hesitation. Flo is really being greedy lol. Di Maria is NOT worth 60 mil. He's not worth 8 mil net wages either.

it would be stupid if you sold a decent squad player. 80 ME is the bare minimum for one of your best players. Perez knows it which is why 80 ME would help soften the blow for an exit of a guy the coach wants to keep and the money could be used for some retail therapy. 80 ME is the highest we will get for any of our players not named ronaldo so I am glad we stuck with that and didn't allow ourselves to get lowballed making us lose arguably our best player for a cut price and on top of that strengthen a European rival. 8 ME net is stupid and I doubt anyone has asked for that not even Ramos.

James was bought to strengthen our team further. Carlo called him the future. With the whole Bernaneu transformation thing doubt we will buy anyone next season. Getting James and losing DiMaria makes our team weaker not stronger. There will be competition but if none of the guys wanted that they would not have come to Real Madrid. We are not Valencia or Atleti ffs

Dude. Stop using Madrid/Barca economics. Other than the Barca/Madrid shenanigans... nobody has paid more than 63 mil for a players. That was for Cavani last summer, a CF. Falcao is second at 60 mil, another CF. CFs always go for a ton more than other field players. So 60 mil for a CM/winger is INSANE MONEY.
