Re: The Bundesliga Thread
that Calhanoglu freekick for the 3:1 is INSANE. How many freekick goals has the kid scored this season already?

I haven't counted, but it sure feels as if about every FK he takes is a spectacular goal.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
what's going on with Lord Bendtner? No love for him from Hecking at all?
Wolfsburg are playing jut fine without him of course, but they're wasting quite some chances for the 2:0

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
What would be the final standing be like:
Top 4
Top 6
I expect (without any valid insight or knowledge) Augsburg to drop out of T6. Will it be for Dortmund to take, they are NINE points adrift ATM and been sliding all the season. Do you believe Hoffenheim is the best bet to replace Augsburg in T6?

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
After 15 of 18 clubs voted yes in a renewed vote, the DFL has decided to introduce goal line technology for the 1. Bundesliga.
It will be the same system and company which is already employed in the Prem, the 'Hawk-Eye'.
It's likely to be introduced with the start of next season.
A few months ago a goal line technology proposal which included all professional leagues and the proposal of a German company had been voted down.
Now apparently also the costs have come down and become acceptable ("an excellent offer which costs less than 8000€ per league game") and the introduction is only for 1. Liga, which has swayed voted in favour (last vote of 1. BuLi clubs was 9-9).

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Well, I just thought it's a pity that the Bundesliga decided to go for Hawkeye instead of one of the domestic solutions GoalControl or GoalRef, even though their bids were "excellent", too.

Meh, we don't have to do everything domestically, and German only. Though admittedly, when in doubt, all else being equal, always buy local.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
I think the deciding factor was that it's already tested and running in the PL, and apparently cheaper too.
So there you go.

Dortmund vs Hoffenheim tonight... Hummels, Piszczek, Sahin and Kuba are all back from injury though only Hummels and Piszczek are fit to start. Schwegler in doubt for Hoffenheim.

Yeah, this, it's a new tech and Hawkeye has showcased it works in action in the Prem. They obviously had a clear unique selling point there.

Didn't know Dortmund were playing tonight, but now I do. Will try to watch it if I can find a stream. Just read a piece in a Finnish sports magazine today talking about Dortmund's downfall. It basically said that Klopp might be asking too much from his players, trying to make them play in a way that the game's nature doesn't always allow them to. That they lack tactical flexibility. A big game for Dortmund tonight, a must win.

Just checked Hoffenheim's squad and if Firmino or Modeste score tonight, I'll start asking for them to be our January panic buys

Hoffenheim don't know what to do. Dortmund currently ripping them apart. But if they don't score another one (well a third one to be fair)....

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Dortmund shock Hoffenheim with a narrow win
Good performance this time around from Dortmund, well apart from the appalling finishing and Subotic being awful. Many chances created, more goals will come once confidence is back, defensively didn't allow many chances with Hummels excelling.
Gündogan and Aubameyang had good games aswell. On to Berlin...
