Meh, Kusen and Schalke are out in the first knockout round anyway.

Let's hope that this time they will not embarass the Bundesliga again like Leverkusen when they were steamrolled 7:1 by Barca...

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
That's mysterious. I just checked the content of the field and saw nothing in it. Sometimes an empty post can result from a picture put in itwhich doesn't show as the server is down or so. I have no clue why this post is reluctant to contain something. I'll leave it there so that someone else from the staff can have a look.
Oh, and BTT:
Mitch Langerak will be in goal for Dortmund until the winter break and Roman Weidenfeller will stay on the bench until then.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Poor Weidenfeller, though you really can't argue one bit with Langeraks performances so far.
I'm still hoping for Trapp to be the next big thing in goalkeeping, though he's impressively injury prone for a GK.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Well, in the PK, Kloppo said he had a long talk with Roman Weidenfeller where he explained his reasoning to him. I guess Weide will agree that everything that can get Dortmund points needs to be done. And as he is a part of the team he has to do what is best for the team, and if that means he has to endure a while on the bench, then so be it.
I hope he won't become a second René Adler, injury-wise.VivaStPauli wrote:I'm still hoping for Trapp to be the next big thing in goalkeeping, though he's impressively injury prone for a GK.

Hapless_Hans wrote:so, following up from the stats thread, I was wondering whether or not the moment is arriving when Klopp needs to execute a changing of the guard in goal.
Weidenfeller is 34, while he's great and has been a pillar of the team, I think I've seen evidence in the past season where he looked shaky and like he might be becoming a weak link.
And his save percentage in the stat thread is 2nd worst of all BuLi keepers this season. Even though I know these numbers are not necessarily unambiguous.
Langerak has always performed well when playing so far, as far as I can remember.
But RWO you have reservation about his ball playing ability?
Fact is, Dortmund are conceding like crazy.
Now I haven't seen the games to judge all the exact reasons for that, and have no real clue whatsoever anyway.
But my GUT tells me Weidenfeller needs to be ousted.
What do you say.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Well, I'm still not sure if Mitch will become the undisputed Nr.1 at Dortmund. I would expect the BVB to look around in the market and try to get a keeper with a "higher potential" in the long run.Hapless_Hans wrote:But RWO you have reservation about his ball playing ability?
But I think it is great that Mitch will get the chance to show what he can do for some consecutive matches. After all, he is already 26 years of age and only has a handful of Bundesliga games in his CV as he was mostly benched during the last 4 years.

All 6 clubs in the knockout
But i guess only Bayern and maybe Dortmund will proceed in the CL. Leverkusen and Schalke are just too bad.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
I do actually have faith in our EL clubs for once, though, both Wolfsburg and BMG have been getting a lot tougher mentally over the past few seasons, they might actually go pretty deep, especially BMG have the right mentality, while Wolfsburg have the bench.

FT Hoffenheim 3:2 Frankfurt
Again a very entertaining match with Hoffenheim participation and it almost ended in a draw, but Oliver Baumann managed to hold the 3 points for Hoffenheim in the end.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Firmino has slowly but steadily picked up things from last season, going to be very good player. But I doubt Hoffenheim will be able to hold on to him for long
