De Vrij was absolutely terrible, probably isn't that bad usually but nonetheless he was pathetic today

Turns out even bad/average players when taken away and put into a cup tournament for a very short no. of games with different teammates, a different manager and a different set up whilst playing their hearts out for their country CAN actually look better than they really are.

What a shocking turn of events.

I was only able to catch the second half, but there were positives and negatives. It seems we played more defensive minded and the team seemed uncomfortable at times. Lazio had chances and failed to put some opportunities away. On the positive, we looked really good on the counter and I'm quite interested to follow the team more this season. Expectations are low, but my hopes are high (just trying to enjoy some football this season).

He plays well , because he is still our defensive leader, anyway in his first match played in Serie A:
referee gives a penalty kick to Torino for an inexsistent contact of Vidic on Quagliarelal ( dive) . Ridicolous decision, Handanovic makes justice.
He used to play in a league where the refs sanction just serious tackles .....

92' minute.  Referee gives free kick to Inter. Vidic claps his hands for his decision because he agrees with it.
Referee  gives him red card because he feels teased for it !  rofl

Embarassing. Really embarassing.

I suppose what bad image he had of Serie A after today , after years in Premier League. Sad for him , forgive us Vidic, you you will need to get used of these craps.

Not been a good day for newcomer CB', just ask De Vrij hmm

At least De Vrij caan just blame himself, not an idiot of referee.
It's absurd we must miss our  best defender for 2-3 matches for a similar thing.
and in Serie A you can make appeal just to get a reduction of the ban , not for its cancellation ... FFS

I think our defending was far improved from the horrors of last season. For starters, we didn't concede from a set piece.

If Milan keep that squad we saw fit, they could surprise people this season. Refreshing to see them enjoying their football again.

Well naturally it's better but I still felt it was a weakness.

So on deadline day,we may see Roma acquire M'Biwa and possibly Rabiot,Inter may acquire Bonaventura, others are likely not going to bring in anyone notable.

Pretty much been average mercatos for Serie A teams.Atleast there havent been many outgoings this yr unlike previous yrs.

M'biwa deal is just about wrapped up and he'll arrive before the end of the day. Rabiot still being negotiated between PSG and Roma, that one could come down to the wire.

Considering we're using the 11m allotted to use from Napoli's elimination in the CL as well as the other 30m from the Benatia deal, Roma expect to be compliant with FFP.

Pretty much most of the big Italian teams are completely safe from FFP with the exception of Inter.

Roma were borderline, but these sales would've covered it.

Honda has definitely become faster since last season. I think the counter-attacking style really suits him.

Roma had the best market out of all the Italian clubs. Strengthened the attack and defense, the only thing i think they could've done better is get a better keeper.

Yep Roma had the best market

But that's half due to them investing well and most likely wisely, and half because they had plenty of obvious gaps to fill.

It's much easier to improve your team when you have a CM playing right winger, no left back worth speaking of and absolutely no bench.

Roma's incomings are very impressive imo, especially if they get rabiot.

Of course though they have lost Benatia to get there.

Yes, Cristante doesn''t make sense but for the rest it was a good market of Milan for me.
Much disapponted about us ,  I was satisfied at the beginning of August but we have ruined all in last period.

Oh Essien, how I hate this guy. I really tried to like his smile and positive groove when entering matches, but EVERYTHING he does is bad, and he cant even win a single duel. Wasnt this man supposedly one of the toughest PL player at some point?

Perhaps he declined fast when hitting 45 years of age (real age)
