Lucas Ocampos has all the talent, but he seems to have stuck at the same level for quite some time now. Needs to step it up before it's too late.

Moncao are doing fine so far. Bordeaux looks a bit shit. Not sure why Kurzawa is benched for Monaco though.

Great goal by Berbatov... anxious to see the kid from Benfica that Monaco bought, Bernardo Silva. He's supposed to be the next big thing in Portugal according to Moutinho. Loan with a pretty ridiculous option to buy (30 mil Laughing). He's only played in Benfica B ffs.

i dont understand why kondogbia is blessed with such a great body and he is so slow to press, recover and just busting his ass in general in midfield.

Monaco going back are very bad, mediocre defenders from left to right, they just plain SUCK. All of them, Raggi, Abdennour, Fabinho, that clown at left back dont know him (wasnt Kurzawa today)

yuck

i pray for Falcao Rodgers can save him, he deserves better

I know Marseille have a shit team. It was Sports that was adamant Bielsa's brilliance would override their average squad.

Valverde >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bielsa

Got Bilbao 4th without the luxury of having Javi Martinez/Llorente and didn't receive a quarter of the praise & adoration Bielsa got. That fraud could only finish 12th and 10th in his two seasons. rofl

A league average of 11th place ffs. ELEVENTH!!!!! That's Getafe & Almeria territory rofl

Gil your post would have been valid if Bielsa did not promote the revolution that he did within Athletic.

Pre-Bielsa, Athletic had Caparrós whom without a doubt was a solid manager whom brought much to Athletic in terms of youth and results, yet for all his consistency he was extremely pragmatic and resorted to having Athletic play an English-Long Ball style to which abstains from all the Basque Futbol philosophies this club was continually built on. It severely limited the squad, had them reach a plateau to which was NOT their ceiling, and was ugly to watch.

Bielsa comes in to apply a ground medley of his Dutch principles, recently learned Basque tactics and his own to completely revolutionize the squad in the original Basque use of high-pressing, slow build-up from the back utilizing ball-playing CBs to fast transition up front, pace on the wide flanks, possession within the box (Llorente key to this) along with emphasis of square possession via players complimenting each other with their physical attributes (Slow to Fast) which was directly correlational to the transition pace as well.

Summarizing what I've covered in depth before, he brought a football back not used since Fernandez and Heynckes for Athletic, e.g a facet thought impossible with the new generation of Euskadi not used to those trials in match time.

-It released Fernando Llorente into a False 9 (Instead of his limited role under Caparrós using his link-up/creativity to a complete CF dropping deep and releasing himself as the sole reference point when being marked, an utter nightmare for defenders that year; in other words, the standard and now rising Basque Aurrelaria role.
-Use of Iker Muniain to combine with Llorente and rack up the 3rd highest chances created in La Liga that year.
-Use of Ander Herrera to dominate midfields alongside Iturraspe to dynamically cover all roles provided.
-Use of Javi Martinez to show him beyond just a technically skilled DM, and his ability to play ball-playing CB provided his partner compliments him.
-Converting Susaeta into a winger rather than a pure forward.
-Use of Oscar De Marcos in his insane versatility
-It created fantastic results to which matched up to the strongest teams in La Liga, even dominating them.
-It brought them to the Copa Del Rey Final, only to be beaten by Pep's Barcelona.
-It brought them to the Europa League Final, beating excellent teams on the way, only to be beaten by Simeone's Athletic.

How did they fail, as I have mentioned Bielsa's shortcomings are with his use of squad. He came to Athletic knowing to apply his Basque teachings thinking it would last throughout the year on the Athletic players given their nurtured fitness levels to sustain it, yet 3/4 into the season all results collapsed as a result despite the rotation, as the system was so mentally and physically demanding that every single player bar Iraola, Iturraspe, Toquero, San Jose and De Marcos could not function as a result hence the jaded performances having them drop points like flies and the 2 cup final games which resembled nothing of their previous intensity let alone tactics.

Speaking of, he utilized formations such as the 4-2-3-1, 3-3-4 and the 3-3-1-3; changing it when realizing the squad could not cope due to the then lack of depth as it is extremely deceptive to judge the season based on final results.

That long term damage and internal disputes with the management and use of money carried on to a disastrous season next year, not reflective on anyone bar the struggle for Athletic to adapt to his changes and the voracious Basque media.

What he has left is a legacy that tactically, philosophically and by squad is the one built by Bielsa to which Valverde uses to this day to his advantage and the Bilbai have nothing but praise for what he has brought back and cemented during his enigmatic two year tenure, many circumstances completely out of his control.

His time in Athletic was not the long term success we had hoped yet brought many facets once though nigh impossible.

Valverde? Agreed, he is a world class manager and tactically off-the-charts but there is no doubt he is using many principles to which Bielsa brought and that platform has helped him copiously. I don't agree on Javi as despite him being world class his role was superbly taken over by Iturraspe yet yes, Llorente has left a cavernous sized gap the size of his frame to which even the most staunch Llorente haters in Bilbao admit. He cannot be replaced and Athletic will not go further until they don't realize that. Though Aduriz was serviceable in his multi-dimensional play yet is not a natural goal-scorer.

Marseille? Sports mentioned Bielsa success over the course of his tenure, not 3 bloody games to which have 0 reflection of his ability to gain results bar early short-term results.

Results via points or not he will be the transition point Marseille in their youngsters and philosophy need to bring them back to their halcyon years.

I see him succeeding, despite all going against him there.

Monaco hold no power over this though.

Falcao clearly doesn't want to play for them, and Monaco want rid.

Falcao doesn't want to commit to a team, because he wants to go to R.Madrid. If not this summer, then next.

A season-long loan with us paying a loan fee to Monaco PLUS covering his wages would make sense to all parties.

he wants to go to madrid and are you sure madrid want to sign him? loooool

look, monaco own him 100%, he might want to go, but if mendes cant come up with a club that will pay what monaco want, he is not going to go anywhere.

they pay him 14 millions euros NET per year, lol, they dont owe him anything. he did nothing for them.

loan only makes sense for you lads on twitter that think you will have all the benefits, and no hassle.

there is 0 chance he moves on loan, without at least an obligation to buy him in a year. and why would monaco agree to something that stops them from finding a replacement now?

keep dreaming. you have money, lol, ffp is not blocking u.
