Glad people will get off the back of Moreno now. Class signing. Manquillo can be a great player as well.

Moreno MOTM ? he was solid defensively (more solid than Sakho and Lovren Laughing although he is a fullback with offensive qualities) and scored a great goal ( taxi for Townsend anyway)

about yesterday , why did Pellegrini play with Sagna instead than Zabaleta ?

when fullbacks perform like that in a diamond formation, that performance is called as WC imo :coffee:

Leicester v Arsenal.

Leicester were very good against Chelsea last week, just unfortunate they didn't take their chances.

Could be a tricky game this for Arsenal.

I'm sure Pool fans don't care and they shouldn't as Gerrard has been immense for them for a long long time.

But does it bother anyone else that Gerrard really doesn't set up or earn any penalties and he gets to take everyone of them?

I didn't even really notice it until a week or two ago when I was cooking and I heard a commentator say Gerrard scored like 13 goals last year and 11 were penalties or something to that effect. So I came to the board and asked if that was true and it was.

I mean that's pretty insane. Granted I can't really ever remember a time he missed a penalty in a big spot but if I were Sterling, Balo and others who do they actual work to earn these penalties and he gets to step up and take the glory it's a little ridiculous. Especially when I'm sure a lot of these forwards have bonuses and incentives in there contracts for goals scored.

Henderson MotM but some very good performances all around. Loved the game. Sterling was electric as always. Best 19 year old in the world.

Also no, it doesn't bother anyone that Stevie gets to take pens. He is one of the best out there at doing it, and the team and fanbase love him.

so probably there also incentives even for assists and penalties won...this thing doesnt work like that. Team is always ahead if individuals

Also, Moreno was awesome, he locked down his entire flank.

Not to mention outside of Bale I don't believe I've ever seen someone from a standstill position out run another player while dribbling as bad as he did Townsend. And what a run/shot.

With the outrageous fees these days in a year or two people will look back and see what a steal he was at 20 mill.

I've said it before on here and I have to say it again, I have to hand it to Pool, there transfer policy has been awesome after the Carroll debacle probably the best in Europe for the money.

Sturridge, Coutinho, Allen, Henderson, Suarez, Moreno, Balotelli, Manquillo, Mignolet.

The biggest fee for any of the was about 25 mil and a lot of them were way less. That's how you turn over a team.

Moreno is 12m euros + add ons.

And no Gerrard never misses them, while the others keep missing them, So its Gerrard who needs to take them.

Moreno fee was 12 mil actually.

As for Gerrard penalties team comes before individuals though. And he is our best penalty by far so cant really complain.I suppose now with Balotelli he might gt competition.

Gerrard is a DM nowadays, so he's not expected to score or assist (from open play). He has a good sense of covering when it comes to defending and an excellent long-range distribution, I'm very happy to have him starting for us.

Leicester 1 - 1 Arsenal

In other news:

Fulham have loaned £11m striker Kostas Mitroglou back to former club Olympiakos just seven months after he arrived at Craven Cottage.

The 26-year-old made three appearances and failed to score for the Cottagers during his injury-affected time with the club.

having Sanogo as your first striker until the end of the year really is a bad joke for a ..ahem.."top club"

then again, if he is not the first striker, but Alexis supposedly is meant to be that, why isn't Alexis RESTED when Sanogo plays.

They should have bought Remy. I don't understand why they didn't push hard enough for him when they desperately need him. Now Remy signed for Chelsea

What I don't understand is why isn't Wenger giving Campbell more of a chance? He's had good loan spells and a good World Cup for Costa Rica. Sanogo was woeful and has done nothing in the early games of the season to convince. Yet Campbell is hardly getting a chance. Podolski, too, is a rather proven scorer. Sticking with Sanogo seems weird. He just hasn't showcased enough quality, arguably both Campbell and Podolski have showcased more quality.
