Not really, no. Welbeck is a decent deal and better value for money than many of the moves we saw this window. He's a solid player who will provide a good focal point up front... you'll just have to rely on other players (Sanchez, Walcott, Podolski, Ramsey, etc) for goals.

Some worrying talk that Falcao has failed his United medical. Might effect Welbeck deal, if true.

If Falcao's failed his med and United haven't signed off the deal...

United have until midnight to sort out the Falcao deal. Guess we'll know soon enough.

Rumours of Falcao failing a medical are just rumours, say SSN. United waiting for the Premier League to confirm the paperwork before confirming the deal.

Then we'll see Welbeck confirmed, in all likelihood.

He is not coming to be a back up/rotation player then. He'll likely be the first choice starter for the rest of the year.

Yeah but Podolski was a starter pretty much every game the first year he came in. We brought him in to be a big time player. Though Wenger thought we would be better starting other players as time went on.

So much for the Puma deal with the others allowing us to compete with the big clubs in transfers.

We can just compete with the next level club trying to get the 3rd or 4th choices.

Welbeck - Not good enough for mau bench. Unfortunately probably still and upgrade to what we had.
Alexis - Barca leftover still an upgrade.
Debuchy - Better than nothing with Sagna leaving.
Calum - Great another youth project.

Combine that with the tactical ineptitude this year and 4th place will be the biggest challenge yet. Almost like Wenger is trying to do his best Alex job and build a team that no other good coach in the world would want. My guess is that if a new manager did come in that the team would be completely blown up. With close to 7 out of the starting X1 not being good enough for a title winning team. Just do not think that there is anything left that leaves and walks into the starting lineup of any top 3 team.

I think you have to go by the fanbases opinion of their own player sometimes.

You know what I haven't heard one single United fan say so far? "Who cares, we've got Falcao in, see ya Welbeck",

Literally all of them seem gutted that he's gone and that he'll be great for us and that the transfer fee was too small.
