Good bye Agger
Liverpool have today confirmed that defender Daniel Agger has sealed a permanent return to his former team, Brondby.
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/169911-agger-seals-switch-back-to-brondby
Even when the going was tough and we were going through dark times he still stuck with us.
Good luck with Brondby

I'm really, really sad. Has he regressed so much that not even tire-2 European teams aren't interested???

From Echo:
He has been linked with Atletico Madrid and Napoli but Agger informed Liverpool he had no interest in playing for anyone else other than Brondby in his homeland.

Re: Good bye Agger
Thanks DTOR. I didn't view it this way, my mistake. I didn't mean that we treated him badly though. I thought even weaker clubs weren't interested (or were offering scandalous fee & wage) so he was forced to go to a club that's even lower.
In light of what you wrote, I think it's really an honorable solution for him and us sacrificing any amount of fees to facilitate his wish is a great way to acknowledge his services.
Farewell Dagger, wish you all the best...always.

Hard not to shed tears...
what an utterly brilliant brilliant human being. Said a while back he has no interest in football other than playing and wants to retire early, so I guess that's the way to do it.
Screw money.....so happy our club showed class and granted him his wish. Really hope Brondby win the Superliga now....
Will miss Daniel, but he'll be happy in Copenhagen.

Sad to see him go but it was inevitable.
Skrtel / Johnson next.
Gerrard has to start getting benched/rotated too if we want to move forward.

Tbh that era has to come to an end sometime. Time has come to move to a new beginning. Skrtel, Johnson, and Lucas will be on their way very soon as well.
Would leave only Stevie. God I'm gonna weep like a baby on that day.

Can we have some photo...may be an album depicting his LFC career. Also, how about we merge the original Agger thread with this one.
I wish Brondby were in EL, that way I could still get glimpses of him.

Agger's presentation at Brondby. my mate in CPH says the media has been going mental over the deal and even during economic/political news, this Agger news comes along. Absolutely massive for the league, and Elmander has gone back to Brondby as well and they sign Pukki too (Time to ask for Brondby avatar)

Re: Good bye Agger
Nothing but respect for Agger. True heart and soul player.
The worst part is that with Stevie's recent performances that day is going to come sooner than later. Even right now you could argue we would be better served with someone other than Gerrard on the field (maybe Can or Coutinho on top of Henderson + Allen). I just don't think he has the legs anymore. He looks tired.

Re: Good bye Agger
I said it last year that we'll need to replace Gerard now or by the end of the year, looks highly likely now. Hopefully this season is a memorable one for him as i see it as the last season he can be assured to have a place in the team.

Re: Good bye Agger
No words, absolute none. I love Agger with every fibre of my Liverpool support and that will not change, especially considering this quiet transition back into his homeland proving that footballers are beyond the usual entitled egos. Touching as it is, it is sad to see him retreat into Denmark as I feel Agger still has much to offer within the higher echelons of Europe, as a move away from Liverpool could have reignited that absolutely fantastic CB we came to adore.
I know Messia will agree with me on this as there is a characteristic and charisma about Danny that goes way beyond Agger as just the footballer, but the person himself who just......see? How do I even find the words to describe how much I respect and admire him?
I truly wish him all the best luck in his life, choosing personal happiness over money, we must appreciate all he did and gave for our club and never forget his times wearing the red.
Will watch Brondby when I can.

Re: Good bye Agger
If I get home and see my girlfriend in bed with Dan Agger, not only won't I get mad, but I'd personally leave and buy a ring and flower and propose to her on the spot and she is being shagged by Dan. Why? she must be something truly special for this gem of a human being like Agger to fancy her.
what a guy, I'd also make Daniel my best man at the wedding !

Do you think Brondby is stupid enough to accept a trade swap with Lovren?

To be fair, Agger wasn't good enough either. He was still the third best after Skrtel/Sakho anyway.
Still better than Lovren though......

“Losing Luis Suarez, losing your best player, is always going to be difficult for a team.
“And in my opinion, we maybe overachieved a bit last season. Everybody played a bit better than we might."
In other news, he misses Liverpool. Would soooo bring him back at the expense of Lovren.

Just read some of Suarez' autobiography.
Suarez gives Agger's son a DVD of him playing "here u can learn from this". Agger says "he wants to be a footballer, not an Olympic diver"
