You can't disable your own mic's sound input on PS4, either. My mic's broken, and people have told me that it's making static noises, although I've turned it off. It was possible to do this on PS3, so why not on PS4? Also, PS4 doesn't support external HDs :facepalm:

Only thing it does 'better' is pretend it's like an instant messaging chat

But in reality sometimes messages flat out fail and take minutes to recieve

Pretty sure the mere fact that on the ps3 when I sent a message it

A) went through unless my internet happened to cut out before i sent it

B) Was recieved straight after I sent it.

makes it better as it actually does a job properly.

Not "You have recieved a message"

Only to press the ps button, and have to wait ages for it to finally show up

Then you reply, and wait 10 seconds on 97% and another 5 minutes for a *bleep* reply

Basically the layout is better and it looks better, but it doesn't actually work so it's not better until they fix it

PSN text chat parties on ps3 are infinitely better than any ps4 text chat

Who text chats anyway lol, this isn't the 90s ffs.

It's a lot more aesthetically pleasing, it's a lot smoother and faster. (PS Store doesn't take a week to load like PS3s did)

I don't really message because I do everything in parties but everything else is miles better.

Oh right fair enough, I don't really use all that to know. But the rest of it from speed of use to navigation through the UI is much better imo.

What's worrying is that gaming industry as a whole is becoming heavily politicized. developers aren't independent anymore, if they don't include female protagonists in their games a horde of feminazis will attack them, if they don't have gay/lesbian characters in their games they'll get attacked by LGBT groups, if the game contains a torture scene it'll have to be removed. i don't understand why everything has to be so politically correct these days ? bad people will continue to do bad stuff regardless of whatever violent games exists or not.
