Welbz aka NewHenry or Super Mario - who will score more goals?

Both Danny Welbeck and Mario Balotelli were bought to provide support/cover for the respective main strikers.
Funnily, both went exactly for the same transfer fee.

Since a possible signing of Balotelli was debated by Arsenal fans as well, I think a direct comparison is warranted and appropriate.

So tell me, which one of the two do you think will score more goals this season?
Since both clubs compete in the CL as well, I'm explicitly asking about goals in all competitions.

Now I know as Giroud is out quite a while, Welbeck will very likely start much more often upfront than Balotelli, but since everyone is questioning Welbecks finishing ability while Pool fans pride themselves of their team being a goal machine, maybe the poll is not completely useless.

This kind of discussion is what the RB section is for.

I think Balotellli is better but I feel Welbeck will score more due to Giroud being a long term injury.

Simply put, Welbeck will score more because he will play more.

Balotelli a cover? He will be a starter at Liverpool, how is he gonna be cover?

If Welbeck gets a shot upfront for an extended period, he'll rack up some goals. Is infinitely faster than Giroud, while being just as strong. Just hope Wenger doesn't shunt him on the wing

Balotelli is better but this poll is not so expected. He  won't shoot penalty kicks this year, and  these usually count  much ( ok, enough) on his final score

lmao Arsenal fans were actually discussing if Welbeck was better than Sturridge before Dan made the switch to LFC. Now they are actually discussing this

It's cool how you disregard the fact that Welbeck was also utilized as a winger at United, while Balo featured as an out and out striker For City, but whatever helps you believe "it won't be particularly close"

welbeck has wooden legs...so no matter how many games he plays, i think balo will edge it

Welbeck played more games as a striker than as a winger for United, but whatever helps you believe that Welbeck is anywhere near as good as Balotelli.

Where did I say Welbeck is as good as Balo? Let's not be making stuff up now....

When City won the league in 2011/12 Balotelli had a better goals/min ration than both Aguero and Dzeko

When United won the league next season(2012/13) Welback scored a grand total of 1 goal

I suspect Welbeck will purely because Balotelli will be sharing his chances with Sturridge regularly. I'm not expecting either to be a shout for the top scorer in the league though as I think both clubs will be looking to spread their goals out more amongst the teams' attacking players than the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United (not sure about City with their 3 quality forwards) will.


Of course, that assessment is based around the assumption that Welbeck will play as Arsenal's CF while Giroud is injured, rather than in a support role to Sanchez or Sanogo (which wouldn't surprise me too much, tbh).
