If Roma win tonight, City won't qualify and it will be between us and Roma for the group win.
That's why I need City to NOT LOSE lol. I want to keep Roma at some distance.

Totti

What no one will mention is who gave Totti 10 yards of space?

Kompany, he won't get any criticism though.

Of course not.
Kompany is the best CB in the Prem, hence the best in the world.
Always cleaning up after Demichelis, who is slow and an accident waiting to happen.
Even if Demichelis cleans up after Kompany, it's the other way around.
Body language of a leader, too.

Laughable tweet by them **** rofl

Overrated team that keeps getting exposed in Europe.

Roma on the other hand have a great team. Very impressed with them today. Pjanic is top class.

Totti

That's 2 points dropped for me. Too many chances missed, though I loved the spirit we showed to fight back after the Aguero penalty. That type of grinta characterizes this Roma side under Rudi. Previous sides would've just crumbled and let City take control.

Totti's goal, like the man himself, is ageless. He doesn't have too many years left, whether he wants to admit that or not. I'm already preparing for "that" day. As does happen when Roma play well, the midfield are the fulcrum and we simply never let City get near us until late. What Pjanic did today is pretty much par for the course over the last year. He's been exceptional.

One player who got overlooked today on the Roman side is Lukasz Skorupski, who had his CL debut in goal in place of Morgan De Sanctis. The young Pole looked a safe pair of hands and not fazed. He's proving a worthy backup for MDS.

As for City? The talent is there clearly. They had the better legs over the 90 minutes. Despite not taking the litany of chances we had, we used the ball better than them overall though they probably could've gotten a go ahead goal near the end. They're in poor European form and if they take on CSKA in that type of form, they'll find it harder than they think to get that 6 points that is expected from that tie.

I will say a strong opinion but I rate Francesco Totti as the best Italian player of the last 30 years. Yes, more than Baggio for me .

A lot of pressure on City to win their next game now, against CSKA in Moscow. A pity it's played in an empty stadium.

The most surprising thing about Roma for me is the fact that they have a solid replacement for pretty much every player bar Pjanic and maybe Totti. De Rossi, Strootman, Iturbe, Castan and De Sanctis were all either injured or unfit yet it was barely noticeable yesterday.

Whoever is in charge of transfers at Roma did an outstanding job in the summer.

It's not only that, they have a great young talent for every position.

Pjanic and Strootman leave? That's all right we'll replace them with Ucan and Paredes.

Reminds me a lot of Big Boss in many ways.

Yup, and like the Big Boss...Saba's tentacles go far in the most of the developed football world. His connections in South America are ridiculous as we've seen with the signings of Lamela and Paredes.

I am dissapointed how stupid/stubborn City are being.

Cant they see in Europe they cant have it their own way, everyone can play?

Said it about 2 years ago, said it last year and will say it again. They need to stop playing 2 strikers.

For me, in away games they need to put Yaya forward into the CAM and play to his strengths of bursting through midfield and having protection behind him.

In home games, you can drop him back deeper and put Silva in there so you get some smart play in between the lines without sacrificing your width and forcing the fullback too far forward.

Totti will be always underrated. They think Totti is only a legend because he plays for more than 20 years in his home club but the truth is that his Football abilities are far more impressive. His Vision, shooting, passing is the best in the history of Football.I never saw player who can change a whole game with so much ease.Like Pirlo his only disadvantage is his Pace and we all know how much these players are rated in the World!!
Therefore he is for me the GOAT.

Champions League 2014/15 | Group E - Page 7 Empty Re: Champions League 2014/15 | Group E

Post by Winter is Coming Tue Oct 21, 2014 1:34 pm

Garcia has been in charge of the Serie A capital club since 2013, having spent the remainder of his playing and coaching career in France.

Roma finished second in the Italian top flight in Garcia's first season in charge at the Stadio Olimpico, their first top-two appearance since finishing runners-up four times from 2005 to 2010.

Guardiola, lauded for his style at Barcelona and now Bayern, said Garcia had Roma playing attractive football, and deserved to be recognised as a successful foreigner in Italy.

"It's not easy for a foreign manager to go abroad and impose himself and his style," Guardiola said, ahead of Bayern's trip to the Stadio Olimpico.

"Garcia has done it in a wonderful way. He has left his mark on Roma.

"Just one detail explains it all; the centre-back goes back to receive the goalie's goal kick and starts the action from there.

"With the same idea of controlling the ball, Antonio Conte has done wonders with Juventus in the last two seasons and [Massimiliano] Allegri keeps doing it.

"Roma do as well and I think these two teams always play the ball, have fantastic midfielders and this is the reason why they are at the top [of Serie A].

"It's a joy to watch Roma play.

"I have not only seen them play against CSKA Moscow and Manchester City.

"Three days ago, even against Chievo they played very well and that pleases me as a spectator, although I hope not to suffer too much tomorrow."

Such is the influence of Garcia's style of play, Guardiola said he believes stalwart striker Francesco Totti has kept playing past the age of 38 for that reason.

"In my opinion, when someone keeps playing at 38 is because he loves it," the Spaniard said.

"Totti does and I think a part of the reason is Garcia's style. Inspiration, in fact, doesn't happen without the ball at your feet.

"This style built around many technical players suits Totti the best and makes him thrive in his passion for football.

"I would like to encourage him to go on this way and I am so happy to meet him again, me on the bench, Totti on the pitch, just as it happened many times during my stint at Roma [under Fabio Capello].

"As you can see, nothing changed, but I am so happy he is still so fit."

Bayern top Group E with maximum points from two matches, two points clear of second-placed Roma.
